Rooted In Nature - Pansy

Hello there and HAPPY Friday!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Do you celebrate Independence day this weekend and beyond?  Our celebrations start tonight!  Tonight starts with a Qualifier Open Barrel Race (which my daughter wants to participate in).  If she is in the top two for her age group she'll move on to the rodeo tomorrow night!  HOPING...HOPING...HOPING!!! There's also a Bull Riding Championship Saturday night along with softball tournaments, cribbage tournaments and Mary Poppins at our Performing Arts Center!  Sunday there are more softball tournaments, horseshoe tournaments, pickleball tournaments, train rides through town.  Our park is full of concessions through the 4th...lemonade, beer booths, kids swim free at the public pool.  Tuesday are our FIREWORKS and THE DESTRUCTION DERBY!  Wednesday is the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, the Anvil Firing, our annual Pie and Ice Cream social, Arts & Crafts fair in the meadow, the Saw Mill, the Stamp Mill, the Jackson Museum and the Blacksmith shop are all FREE and we shut down Highway 299 for about forty-five minutes for our Main Street Parade!  It starts today and ends on Wednesday...lots of NOSTALGIA and FUN!

Whatever your plans are I hope you find just a bit of time to create and here's just a little bit of INSPIRATION!

I created this card back at the beginning of the month (June 1st) when I made one that also looked like a poppy!  I was an a roll with this stamp set - Rooted In Nature!  Here's a PANSY made out of the same set!

I just used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the center in Crushed Curry, the outside in Blackberry Bliss and stamped the image onto a 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. It is mounted onto a 3 7/8" X 3 7/8" piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock then offset from a 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The background is Garden Impressions designer paper!  The sentiment (from the same stamp set) is stamped on the smallest square cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits!

I LOVE the colors...they're so rich!  I hope you'll give it a try!  THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by!  Enjoy your weekend...HAVE FUN and STAY SAFE!!

Petal Palette Happy Birthday

Hello and Happy Thursday!  YAY!  It's almost a long weekend!  SUPER EXCITED about that...no plans, but EXCITED!  What will you all be doing for the Memorial Day weekend?  I hope you have lots of FUN things planned...be sure and stay SAFE!  Our weekend starts tomorrow because our school has a snow day scheduled.  As much as I LOVE it when it snows, I'm always happy when we don't use all of our snow days and have a four day weekend with my husband and children!

I have a BEAUTIFUL card to share with you today...I had FUN making it!

The card base is Whisper White with a Whisper White  4" X 5 1/4" layer that I embossed with the Scattered Sequins Embossing Folder.  I finally remembered to order a new one after my daughter broke the first one. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp from Petal Palette, stamped it and cut it out using the Petals and More framelits. The colors I chose are Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry. After stamping them I colored them with my Stampin' Blend Markers...the same colors. Next, I cut a circle from Wood Texture designer paper using the Stitched Shapes framelits and stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Best Birds stamp set. Before I attached the embossed layer (with dimensional) to my card base I tied a piece of Winter White Organza Ribbon into a bow around it.  I tied a bow around the bow with Linen Thread. I LOVE this card!  I did one similar to it a while back, but I needed this one to have a sentiment!  I LOVE that I get to do this every day!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I love sharing my creations with other paper lovers!  You have a FANTASTIC day!  I'm off to mop the floor...my daughter spilled an entire pitcher of Country Time Lemonade and it's a STICKY MESS!!  UGHH!!!

Share What You Love Suite

Good Morning everyone!  I hope your day is off to a great start!  Things are looking good here...kind of a nostalgic day!  While taking kids to school this morning Roy Clark came on the radio singing, Yesterday When I Was Young, ...reminding me of my mom and dad.  Now I'm here typing my blog, listening to Eddy Arnold, Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, Englebert...the goodies.  Oh how my mom LOVED Eddy Arnold and Englebert Humperdink.  Everyday when I came home from school one of them would be on her stereo, she had so many albums! My dad too...he loved big band music and the crooners!  I used to love to watch my mom and dad dance in the the kitchen.  My dad would take her in his arms and swing her around so gracefully, the would laugh and kiss...it made me so happy.  I love how music can evoke so many memories...happy and sad...it takes us to a different time!

Well...last night I had a class and it went great!  I LOVE my classes.  It's so wonderful getting together with other ladies...friends...getting to a place where there are no worries...just creating!  Of course I waited to the last minute to prepare so I was in my workshop most of the day.  I did have a plan though, which made it easier to get started.  My plan was to center my May classes around the Share What You Love Suite! Today, I'd like to share one of the cards that I created but didn't use at the class!  I hope you like it!

I LOVE this card!  It has a Crumb Cake card base with a 4" x 5 1/4" Fresh Fig mat then a 3 3/4" X 5" piece of Wood Textures designer paper.  I...OF COURSE...got the Gotta Have It All Bundle so I used the Love What You Do stamp set.  The background is inked in Pool Party then spritzed with water and stamped directly onto the designer paper.  I used my Fresh Fig and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers to color the stem and flower outlines then I took my blender pen and dipped it in Fresh Fig, starting from the bottom, I colored in each flower petal...making the bottom darker then the tops.  I stamped the sentiment (from the same stamp set) in Memento Black ink.  Before adhering it to my card base I tied a piece of 1/4" Rich Razzleberry Velvet Ribbon into a knot.  I then took four pieces of Linen Thread and tied a bow around the knot.  Super cute and easy card to make!  I hope you'll give it a try!  If you need supplies, I'd love to be your demonstrator...just click on SHOP and you can purchase what you need form my store!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by today!  I'll be sharing more of the cards from this suite over the next couple of weeks! I have to head down the mountain now to deliver orders so I'll be heading out soon!  You have a FABULOUS day!

Facebook Hop - Colorful Spring

Hello and Happy Saturday! I'm hoping you have something FUN planned for the weekend!  I'm meeting with my tax man to get our taxes completed! I'm also going to Rust and Roses...a really COOL venue with beautiful TREASURES to discover! A girlfriend of mine has a booth there and I can't wait to see what goodies I can find! It's a BEAUTIFUL rainy day...is there a better way to spend it then visiting a friend?

Today, at 5pm is a Facebook Hop!  I hope you'll check it out!  The theme for the hop is Colorful Spring and here is the card that I will be sharing!  ENJOY!

My card base is Whisper White and my first layer is Pool Party.  Next I used the Scattered Sequins embossing folder to emboss a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  I used my Old Olive, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry Stampin' Write Markers to color my Petal Palette stamp. Next I cut my floral image out with the Petals & More dies. Before adhering the flowers to the card with dimensionals, I used my Stampin' Blend markers to color in the flowers.  I used these colors...Light Daffodil Delight, Dark Pool Party, Light Calypso Coral and Light Old Olive.  I also added a piece of Whisper White Organza Ribbon (OH HOW I LOVE THIS RIBBON!) and some Tutti-Frutti Sequins with a Pearl Basic Jewel in the middle! I just LOVE how this card turned out! It's clean and simple but also colorful and cheery!  I hope you like it to!
