Simple Scrapbooking with Festive Birthday Designer Paper

Good EVENING....my dears...and how are you this Halloween night? Well...time got away from me today and I am just now getting around to posting! If I was thinking I would have shared the Halloween page from last week today...but, alas, I wasn't thinking! I do have a page to share with you though!

These are some of my FAVORITE photos of my son when he was younger. It's a simple page because I wanted more focus to be on the pictures than the scrapbooking! I used Basic Black cardstock as the base of my page and cut a piece of Festive Birthday designer paper as an accent! The letters are rub-on's that I've had for some time...but they really made the page! Another option would have been to heat emboss his name with an alphabet stamp set. I just LOVE this page and hope you do too!

Have fun trick-or-treating...or handing out candy...just staying home...or whatever you choose to do this evening! I haven't had trick-or-treaters in 27 years of marriage! We've always lived to far out...but I buy candy just in case! My daughter is off to grandma's to help her pass out her candy and my son is off with a group of friends, so my husband and I are meeting with our home group! I have an apple cobbler ready for dessert!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you are inspired to work on a scrapbook page...be thinking about your Halloween photos!

Halloween Scrapbook Page

Hello Friday...you're finally here! I'm headed down the mountain for an oil change and grocery shopping...but first I have another scrapbook page to share with you!

For this Halloween page from years back, I used a piece of designer paper from the Halloween Night specialty paper pack. I heat embossed using Black embossing powder and the Timeless Texture stamp set. I also heat embossed "Halloween" using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set. The really cute pumpkins are made using the Oval Framelits and the same Halloween Night Specialty Designer Paper. The gold button is from the clearance rack. Yes...I'm behind...my son is a freshman in high school now! Boy do I need to get on the ball!

Well...that's it! I'm gonna be cheering on the Chicago Cubs tonight in the World Series (the Giants are still my team)...but I've gotta cheer on this young team! Did you know that I LOVE BASEBALL!?!?!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  HAVE A FANTASTIC WEEKEND! Don't forget to check back in next week!

Monster Truck Scrapbook Page

Hey there and GOOD MORNING! All's well at the Watson house! I'm super excited today to be going out to work in my shop! I'm headed to Phoenix next Friday to see my son and go to my first ever Stampin' Up! event...so I need to get out there and make some swaps...I'm hopin' for 100, but would be THRILLED with 50!!
I have a scrapbook page to share with you today. MY son LOVED monster trucks when he was little (still does) and here's a page I created with a few of his favorite trucks. I love the layers of paper...this is retired paper, but you could use any dp that makes your photos pop!  The scalloped border is made with punched circles.  I placed a White Perfect Accent in each half circle.  I stamped the title using the Layered Letters stamp set and the Labeler Alphabet stamp set! I love stamping on scrapbook pages and I have more to share so be sure to stop by again!

I hope you all have a fantastic day! I'll be enjoying the rain, coffee with a friend and CREATING! Thanks bunches for stopping by for a little inspiration!!!

Christmas Stockings and Pretty Pines

Good morning my crafty friends! I have another Christmas card to share with you today...it's not that far off! YIKES!
I used the Christmas Stockings Thinlits along with the Brick Wall embossing folder and the Pretty Pines Thinlits to create this card. The colors I chose are Real Red, Pool Party, Whisper White and Old Olive. I also used Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper for the tops of the stockings. Aren't those stockings BEAUTIFUL? I just love the Hang Your Stockings bundle and the Christmas Pines Bundle...can't wait to get out to my workshop to play with them some more...but today, I must go to work darn it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY...and find time to CREATE! I'll be back tomorrow with more inspiration!

Life is BEAUTIFUL!

Hello...hope all is well with everyone! The rain has stopped for the moment...time enough for puddles to dry out before it begins again this afternoon! Have I mentioned that I LOVE this time of year?!

I'm off to the soup kitchen...lentil soup in the crock pot, but I have a quick card to share with you this morning!

It's another card I made with the Project Life Card Collection. The background is from the Halloween Night designer paper. These Project Life cards sure make creating a card fast and simple! I'm not real thrilled with the silver glimmer ribbon I chose. If I were to make it again, I'd use Pool Party ribbon...to match the cardstock I mounted the card on and make the flower pop a bit...I can't change it because I've already sent it, but there's always next time!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today...I hope you find inspiration here! Have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!!

Christmas Stockings

Good morning everyone! Well..it's Monday...and it's POURING...and I'm LOVIN' every minute of it! It's suppose to rain here all week! I did get to watch my son play a double header baseball game yesterday...it was a beautiful day...sunny, but not to hot. Today is a different kind of beautiful...a fire in the fireplace, cup of hot chocolate, watching old movies kind of day!

I have a card to share with you today...a Christmas card...hope you love it!

I created this card using the Christmas Stockings Thinlits, the Pretty Pines Thinlits along with the Cable Knit and the Brick Wall embossing folders. The sentiment is from the Wonderful Year stamp set. The colors I chose are Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White. Gotta love the Red and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper too! Isn't it a super cute card?

Just an FYI...I made my daughters six week orthodontist appointment last Friday...guess what that date is?!?! DECEMBER 1st...can you believe it....December is less than six weeks away! OH MY!!!!

Well...that's all I have for you today! As always...THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by! Hope your day is smooth and calm...AND I hope you find time to create!

Hello Lovely Project Life Card Collection Card

Hello and HAPPY Friday to you all! Hoping you have some FUN things planned for the weekend! I am hoping to just be able to stay home for an entire weekend! It's time to be a homebody!

Today's card is made with using the Project Life Hello Lovely Card Collection. These cards aren't just for scrapbooking! I mounted my chosen Project Life card onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, tied a piece of silver glitter ribbon around it and then mounted it onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock.  Next I attached it to a piece of Halloween Night specialty designer paper using dimensionals. Finally I adhered it to a Crumb Cake card base! I think it makes a beautiful card and boy was it SIMPLE!

Well...that's it for today...thanks for stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! I'll be back on Monday!

Dad Time...scrapbook page

Good morning and happy Thursday! Boy has this week gone by fast! It seems an eternity ago that I went away to my scrapbooking retreat!  Today I want to share one of the pages that I finished while I was there!

I used different pieces of designer paper for this page...I love the color combo...Crushed Curry, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Bermuda Bay. I also love the different patterns layered onto each other.  That Whisper White mini pompom trim is just too cute! I sanded the edges of photos and then mounted them on Real Red cardstock.  I stamped DAD using VersaMark with white embossing powder using the Layered Letters stamp set. I used some fabric letters for the word TIME (it did give me the idea to emboss on fabric with letters...haven't tried it yet, but I will definitely share when I do)! Boy pages are so difficult for me...I really want to embellish more, but know that my son wouldn't really like that...so I try to keep them clean and simple!

That's it for today! Off to take Kate to the orthodontist! Have a FANTASTIC rest of your day! Thanks bunches for stopping by!!

Today I leave you with a special thought...I received some wonderful cards today from friends expressing their sympathy...I will NEVER forget how you made me feel...THANK YOU!!!

Totally Trees

Good morning friends! Once again I have been missing in action and I am sorry! As you know from my post on October 6th, my mom was admitted to the hospital. She passed early on October 10th...making it to her 85th birthday which was on the 9th. Her memorial is finished and I am home for a couple of weeks before I go to OnStage in Phoenix, AZ (it's a SU thing). I've never gone to a Stampin' UP! event so I'm excited...mostly I'm excited because my son, Erik lives in Phoenix and my daughter, Sarah has decided to go with me!! I can't think of many things better that spending time with my family...and getting to play at the same time!

I have a simple, fall card to share with you today...made with the Totally Trees stamp set.  The colors I used are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Old Olive.  I sponged around the trees with Pool Party ink. The grass is Old Olive as well. I added some ribbon (it was all I had and is no longer available), but any ribbon will work. I mounted the stamped image onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock before adhering it to my Whisper White card base.

I used no sentiment because I wanted to be able to use it as a birthday, thank you or thinking of you card. I did stamp a couple of trees on the inside of the card as well (stamping off the side of course). This is a wonderful set...it can be simple, elegant and even grungy. I'm having fun playing with it!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a TERRIFIC day!

Santa's Sleigh Scrapbook Page

Hello...and HAPPY FRIDAY!!! As promised...I have the Santa's Sleigh scrapbook layout to share with you today! I hope you like it! I had so much fun getting back to scrapbooking last weekend!!

Here are both pages together to show the complete layout! The background paper is from the Candy Cane Lane Designer paper pack. I LOVE this paper...as you can see, I've used it a lot and need to order more! SO GLAD it's on sale...BUY TWO GET ONE FREE...I'm stocking up!

Here is a close up...are those little trees on the background paper just the cutest? Now...that sleigh...is it not GORGEOUS? I used the Santa's Sleigh Thinlit Dies to make the sleigh, with a black base and a Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper top.  The trees and the snowbank are also cut from the same Glimmer paper!

As you can see...this corner of the layout is the same as yesterday's card. This page was my inspiration! I LOVE this set so much!

Well...that's it for today! ENJOY every moment of your weekend!

Santa's Sleigh Christmas Card

Good everyone...and how do you do? Hey...HOW 'BOUT THOSE GIANTS!?!?!?! I'm so HAPPY they won!!! It's a busy day for me...I'm heading down the mountain at 3:30am for my son's surgery and then Friday down to my mom's as she was taken to the hospital last night...I'm kind of running on adrenaline right now and can't sleep...so I'm posting! I must admit...I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed!

Today I have a REALLY CUTE Christmas card to share with you! I created this card using the Santa's Sleigh Thinlit Dies. I punched the BEAUTIFUL tree from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper, the deer from Early Espresso cardstock and the bow from Red Glimmer Paper. The snow I cut freehand using a scrap piece of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper. The designer paper background is from the Candy Cane Lane designer paper packs (which by the way are BUY TWO GET ONE FREE the ENTIRE month of October).  I did ad one star that I had cut...AGAIN from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper using the Starlight Thinlit Dies. Isn't it a super cute (and easy) card!  I just LOVE it!

Tomorrow I will show you how I used all of these products on a GORGEOUS scrapbook page so be sure to stop by!

Candy Cane Lane Scrapbook Page

Holy Cow...I forgot to blog this morning and it's almost time for the San Francisco Giants to play the N.Y. Mets in the Wildcard game!!  I LOVE MY GIANTS!!!!  Real quick I'm gonna share a scrapbook page that I made last weekend at my retreat!

This scrapbook page is made using Crumb Cake cardstock. The two designer papers down the center of the page are from the Candy Cane Lane pack and the Brights designer paper pack.  I used Candy Cane Lane Washi tape in the bottom left hand corner.  The buck on the top left is from the Hello December Project Life card collection. The gold buttons are from the CLEARANCE RACK and I tied each one with Real Red Candy Cane Lane Bakers Twine.

I used the Merry Medley stamp set to stampe the bottom, right corner in Versa Mark. I stamped it again in Memento Black on Very Vanilla cardstock and then cut out the center to attach to the page using dimensionals.

The CUTE kiddos are mine...YEP...I'll claim them!

Ok...I'm off to watch the game! Hope you're inspired to do some scrapbooking! I also hope you're ALL cheering for MY GIANTS!!!

Have a relaxing evening! See ya tomorrow with more ideas...thanks so much for stopping by!

Star of Light

Good morning!!!  I hope you are all well and had a FANTASTIC weekend!  I had a TERRIFIC time at the retreat I went to! I met some really wonderful and talented ladies and can't wait to "play" with them again! The destination was GORGEOUS, the hostess was AMAZING and GENEROUS and we ate some DELICIOUS food! As a side note...I finished about 25 scrapbook pages and 6 cards...so I have lots to share with you!  Yesterday I slept and recovered from our 12 hour drive home...yep...straight through! Let's get started!

Our hostess had a beautiful card for us to create as a Make & Take so I asked her if I could offer a Make & Take as well. I took several bundles that I had not had a chance to play with and one of them was the Star of Light Photopolymer Bundle which includes the Star of Light stamp set and the coordinating Starlight Thinlits. I REALLY LOVE this bundle! I used it on a few scrapbook pages as well!

For my card I cut a solid star from Silver Foil paper and I layered two snowflake stars cut from Pool Party (which I glued to the Foil star) and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper on top (attached with a small Dimensional). Before adhering the star to my Whisper White layer (with Dimensionals), I used the Star of Light stamp set to stamp a background in Pool Party ink. The "Merry Christmas" sentiment that I stamped in Real Red is from the same stamp set.  I added another small Silver Foil star and Basic Rhinestones to bling it up a bit and layered it onto a piece of Pool Party cardstock and then a piece of Real Red cardstock.  Finally attached it to my Whisper White card base.

Naturally...I had to stamp the inside of the card as well!  Those swirls are so pretty! One of the gals who made this Make & Take stamped one of the swirls on the middle-bottom of the back of the card...a VERY CUTE idea and so clever!  I LOVED it!

Well...that's it for today! Thanks bunches for stopping by!  I Hope you have a FANTASTIC week and HAPPY FALL!!

Linda..if you're reading this...THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!
