Christmas Magic

Good morning and a TERRIFIC Tuesday to you today! Well...I'm up early! I have to make my chili for the soup kitchen and get down there to set up and serve right after I take kids to school! Then off to work for an hour...(I HOPE)...then to Kate's volleyball game and THEN...we're leaving for Palomar! I CANNOT WAIT!!! I'm hoping to see the Observatory while I'm there! It's gonna be a great trip! Please pray for safe travels!

Today's card is the last card from my September classes.

This card (another very simple clean card) is stamped with the Christmas Magic stamp set. The sentiment is from the same set.  I stamped the image in Memento Black ink on to a 2 1/4 X 2 1/4 piece of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it to a piece of 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 Basic Black cardstock. I stamped the sentiment onto the Whisper White card base in Cherry Cobble and then attached the stamped image above the sentiment using dimensional.  I used Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details to add a bit of bling to the ground below the trees!

SO SIMPLE..but SIMPLY LOVELY!

...and there are so many different trees you can make this card with as well as so many different color combinations!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'm gonna be gone from Wednesday through Monday and I might not be able to post where I'm going!  If that's the case I'll be back on Tuesday!  You have a great rest of your day...and week!

Petals & Paisley

Hello and Happy Monday! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I had a houseful of teenage boys, I watched my son play a double header baseball game, baked with my daughter and started packing for an upcoming retreat I'll be going to in Palomar. FUN...FUN...FUN!!!

I'm sharing another card that we made at my September classes. We made four, so I have the last one to share with you tomorrow!

This very simple card is made with the Petals & Paisley Specialty designer paper.  I cut a 3 X 3 square, inked the edges with Soft Suede (or Early Espresso) ink and adhered it to a piece of 3 1/8 x 3 1/8 Soft Suede cardstock.  I attached it to a Very Vanilla card base using dimensionals and added a flower punched with the Blossom Bunch punch. The flower is Delightful Dijon and has a Metal Rimmed Pearl as its center.  The sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set.

See how easy that was! Next.....to use the Paisley stamps and Thinlet dies! What a FUN bundle!!

That's it for today! I'll be back tomorrow! It's soup kitchen tomorrow so I may be late in posting...or...I might get up early!

THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by! Have a FABULOUS day!

Totally Tree - Christmas

Hello and Happy FRIDAY! Are you ready for your weekend? I hope you have lots of FUN things planned with only a FEW chores! I'll be going to watch my son play baseball...he has a double header on Sunday. I hate it when I have to miss church, but I sure love watching my kids!

As promised I'm sharing the Christmas card we made using the Totally Trees stamp set, in my class this week.

The card base is Crumb Cake with the first layer from the This Christmas designer series specialty paper pack. This pack is filled with 24 pieces of paper...ALL of them so pretty.  I stamped the Christmas tree and the star images using the Totally Trees stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Forever Evergreen stamp set. I matted the stamped image onto a piece of Real Red cardstock and tied a piece of Pool Party 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon around both pieces. I adhered it to the designer paper using dimensionals. I tied the Mini Jingle Bell around the Pool Party bow with a piece of Linen Thread. This is such a simple, fun Christmas card. The gals in my class used the star stamp to stamp the inside of the card and it turned out so cute (but I forgot to take a photo)

I hope you're inspired to get going on your Christmas cards now! Did you know that I didn't send one Christmas card out last year? SHAMEFUL!!! That's NOT happening this year for certain...I'm gonna get started VERY SOON!!!

Well...I hope you all have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND! I'll be back on Monday to share some more! Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!

Totally Trees - Fall

Good morning! It's a crisp, cool morning here in my little mountain town on this, the first day of fall!  I LOVE it!  I had a great workshop yesterday in Redding with a bunch of great gals and a terrific helper!  I want to share the cards we made for the next few days!  I hope you like them...and if you're in the Redding or Weaverville area and would like to attend one of my workshops...give me a shout...I'd LOVE to meet you and create with you!

Today's card is an appropriate fun FALL card.  I used the Totally Trees stamp set to make the trees using Cajun Craze, Delightful Dijon and Rose Red inks. The grass is stamped in Old Olive and the tree branches/trunks are stamped in Memento Black.  I mounted the stamped piece of Whisper White cardstock onto a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock.  Before I adhered it to my Crumb Cake card base I tied a piece of Linen Thread around it.  I want to start making videos and I think this might be my first one! I created a new way...at least to me, to put the Linen Thread around the card...super fast and EASY!!!

You know I love to make the insides of my cards beautiful too...so here I added a couple of trees! I like to stamp off the side to add a little character! It would be really cute to stamp the envelope you plan to mail it in too! Sometimes it's nice to have a blank card to send "just because" so I did not add a sentiment!

I LOVE this stamp set!

We made a Christmas card with it too...stop in and see it tomorrow!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a FANTASTIC day! I'm headed over to Van Duzen to watch my daughter, Kate play volleyball today. It's about a two hour drive to watch her play for 30 to 45 minutes...but it's worth every minute of it!!

Paisley

Good Morning! Well...when I went to schedule today's blog post...I realized I hadn't published yesterday's blog post...it was still a draft, so you're probably seeing two posts today!  SORRY about that...but I sure hope you enjoy them both! Now...I'm off to spin class...TRYING to get healthy!

Today's card is made with Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Paper. The colors I chose are Night of Navy, Delightful Dijon, Very Vanilla and Mint Macaron. The sentiment and the background of the sentiment are from the Best Birds stamp set. I cut a beautiful leaf from Copper Foil sheets, using the Paisley framelits. I attached the leaf to the sentiment with Mint Macaron Striped 5/8" ribbon and Kraft Rope trim. The sentiment is attached to the designer paper with dimensionals!

Of course I added just a bit to the inside of the card by stamping (in Mint Macaron), the background from the sentiment...again fromt he Best Birds stamp set. I love the colors in this designer paper...they are GORGEOUS! You're gonna LOVE those Copper Foil sheets too!!! OH the POSSIBILITIES!

That's all I have for you today! I'm headed down the mountain for my workshop! Hoping it goes smoothly...and that I don't have any HOT FLASHES!  Hope you have a WONDERFUL rest of your day! Thanks bunches for stopping by!

Emoji Birthday!

Hello! Hi...and how are you! Things are busy...as usual around my house! I keep saying..."when things slow down"..."when life gets a little more organized"...but it just NEVER seems to happen!

I have a quick project to share with you today. My daughter, Kate, wanted to give a girlfriend a small birthday gift and her friend LOVES emojis!  I'm busy getting ready for my workshop tomorrow so I had to do something pretty simple so she could just handle it! So here you have it!

To make the card we used the Layering Circle framelits (we used the largest circle). We cut a piece of paper 3" X 6" Daffodil Delight cardstock and scored it at 3", folded it and put the framelit on top...just above the fold line (this made it a circle card).  We matched the card EMOJI with the Curvy Keepsake Box EMOJI.  For the face of the EMOJI we used the 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches. The HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment is from the Sunburst Saying's stamp set.  The circle punches used for the sentiment are 1 1/4" and 1 3/8". The sentiment is tied to the EMOJI with Black Baker's Twine. It was a pretty fun project to do with my girl!

Below I have a few more EMOJI's I created in the past. My daughter wants me to do a bunch more...I guess they're trendy again!

Well...that's it for today! I have to finish getting ready for my workshop in the morning! You all have a FANTASTIC Tuesday!

Starlight...Star of Light

Hello there!! Well..I didn't get out to my workshop over the weekend....not to create anyway! My oldest son came home to help celebrate his younger brothers 14th birthday!  I had three of my four boys home!!! It was WONDERFUL!!!

Today I went to the post office and in my box was this BEAUTIFUL card from my upline, Sarah at Sarah's Ink Spot

This card is made with the Starlight Thinlits Dies and the Star of Light stamp set! The stars are cut from Silver Glimmer paper and Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. Isn't it a beautiful card?!?!

I LOVE the Sweet Sugarplum, Smoky Slate and Whisper White color combo...and the glimmer paper just makes it POP!

I have home group tonight...but hope to get out to my workshop to create after everyone has gone home. So stop by tomorrow to see what's happening!

Thanks so much for following my blog...it's why I keep blogging!  Have a FANTASTIC day!

Windows

Good Morning! I'm so excited to announce that I HAVE WINDOWS! The job is ALMOST finished! I have some painting to do and decorating to make it cozy and inspiring, but I can get out there and CREATE....SOOOOOOO guess what I'll be doing this weekend??  I can't get out there today...it's my son, Adam's 14th birthday and I have a birthday dinner and cake to prepare!

I would like to ask for prayer if you think of it! The contractor over my project was in a horrible motorcycle accident last Saturday. He has a broken femur, hip, and more, plus he's having a lot of confusion. His MRI shows no bleed or swelling...which are good signs! Please pray for healing and comfort from the pain. He's a great guy!

I also have a PTL...my husband was in a bicycling accident last Saturday as well. A dog ran out in front of him, he hit it and was thrown over his bike.  He is scrapped up and bruised, but his helmet saved his life! He landed on his head and BROKE the helmet...but he is good. His buddy, who was riding behind him crashed into my hubby and he broke some ribs, his collar bone, a finger and bruised his lungs so pray for him too. Needless to say is was a CRAZY and EMOTIONAL day!

Thank you so much for following my blog and stopping by today! I should have lots of things to share with you starting next week...so be sure to come back by! I'll also share my progress in my workshop!  Have a FANTASTIC day and a WONDERFUL weekend! HUGS to you all!!

Good-bye Summer Hello...Fall Facebook Hop

Hello and good evening!  It's Friday night and I'm at home with SIX teenage boys celebrating my son's upcoming 14th birthday!  They're having fun eating pizza, drinking sodas, playing tag and waiting to go bowling!  It's surprisingly quiet!  My youngest...Kate, is attending her first dance! A sixth grader...they mostly just dance with their girlfriends and giggle! My husband has gone to ride in the Siskiyou Century tomorrow...and I'm here...enjoying the peace and updating my blog! What could be better?

I haven't been able to create much lately because my workshop remodel, but I signed up to participate in another Facebook Hop so I had to find a small spot to get things done!

Our theme was Good-bye Summer...Hello Fall. I LOVE creating fall themed cards...I guess because I LOVE fall!

This card has a Crumb Cake base. The first layer is Soft Suede and the next layer is from the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Paper series.  I stamped on a piece of 3" X 3" piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using the Timeless Texture and Basket of Wishes stamp sets.  The pumpkins are paper pieced using the Halloween Scenes Edgelit Dies. I first cut the three pumpkins together (inside the basket) out of Soft Suede cardstock. Then I chose two designer papers (the polka dots print is from the Regals paper stack and the hounds tooth print is from the other side of the designer paper I used from the Petals & Paisley series).  From those pieces of dp, I cut two more groups of pumpkins and separated them into individual pumpkins to attach to the Soft Suede pumpkin base.  I stamped the basket image from the Basket of Wishes stamp set and cut it out...attaching it to the Very Vanilla base with dimensionals. I sponged Pool Party ink to add color to the background and stamped splotches in Wild Wasabi in using the Timeless Texture stamp set.

I used the 1/2", 3/4" and 1" circle punches to make a few more pumpkins...one for the front ant a couple for inside.  The sunflowers were made with the Blossom Bunch punch. I layered two of the same size flowers on top of each other...distressed them with Early Espresso ink and added centers made with the 1/2" and 3/4" circle punches.  I cut thin strips of Wild Wasabi cardstock and curled them around my paper piecing tool to create vines.  The sentiment is also from the Basket of Wishes stamp set.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I hope you like the card and that you had a chance to follow along on the Facebook hop!

Thanks so much for checking in on my blog! I hope to be back to creating soon!  The workers will be here next week to finish up!
