Snail Mail Tutorial

Hello there!!  I hope life is treating you well!  I am so thankful for days that go smoothly and for sunshiny days! It's been beautiful here and I'm totally enjoying it!  I hosted a four day retreat this past weekend (hence my MIA) AND ran the snack bar at our first baseball game last Friday.  The retreat was wonderful...lots of laughing, cooking, eating and creating!  The snack bar was terrific too.  I only stayed for one game (as I had my retreat ladies to visit with) but a couple of moms ran it for me for the second game!  All the proceeds go to my son, Adam's Memorial Scholarship Fund.  I'm so happy that the high school teams are playing and that they allow me to still be a part of things...I am VERY BLESSED!

The Snail Mail bungle is retiring with the current catalog and I am so sad!  I think it's such a cute set (and I'm normally not a huge CUTE fan)!  Here's a fun card and tutorial for you to try!

Snail Mail

Supplies:

·         Stamp Sets – Snail Mail Bundle (156255)

·         Cardstock – Bermuda Bay (131197), Basic White (159276), Real Red (102482)

·         Stamp Pads – Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (132708)

·         Miscellaneous. –  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Real Red (154899) and Balmy Blue (154830) Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs, Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Snail Mail Designer Series Paper (DSP) (154577), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin’ Seal Plus (143699), Wink of Stella (141897)

 

Measurements:

·         Bermuda Bay:  8 ½” x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼” – card base

·         Real Red:  3 ¼” x 3 ¼” plus scrap for tiny envelope

·         Snail Mail DSP:  3” x 3” plus scrap for tiny ‘letter’, 5 ¼” x 1” for inside decorative strip

·         Basic White: 5 ¼” x 4” plus scrap for snail

 

Instructions:

1.    Create Bermuda Bay card base.

2.    Stamp cute snail on Basic White with Memento stamp pad and color with Blends. Die cut. Paint the shell with Wink of Stella.

3.    Die cut small envelope in Real Red, fold and adhere envelope sides together with Mini Glue Dot.

4.    Die cut tiny letter, stamp with small heart and insert into envelope.

5.    Adhere 1” DSP to 4’ x 5 ¼” Basic White, stamp “You snailed it!” and add to inside of the card.

6.    Cut off 2” from the front panel of the card.  Adhere DSP to Real Red and adhere to the front panel allowing approximately ½” over the edge.

7.    Add snail with Dimensionals.  Add small envelope to the left of the snail with Stampin’ Seal plus

8.    Stamp envelope with ‘HAPPY MAIL enclosed’ stamp.

9.    Send to a friend …….

Tuesday's Tip - Stamping Off Technique

Hello everyone!  Here it is Tuesday again and I have a new Tuesday's Tip video to share with you!  I hope you'll give it a try!

Here are the two cards I created by using the stamping off technique.

I really like how they turned out!  Did you notice how I hid my mess up?

I used the In Bloom stamp set and Pierced Blooms dies. I used Magenta Madness ink, VersaMark ink and Memento Black ink.  The flowers are cut from Bumblebee cardstock with the Pierced Blooms dies.  I used the Artistry Blooms Sequins, Linen Thread and the retiring 2020-2022 In Color 1/4" Ribbon (Magenta Madness).

Flowering Vine

Hello there and HAPPY Monday!  I hope you had a lovely weekend!  I'd love to hear what you did in the comments below!  It's fun to live vicariously through others!  I had an uneventful weekend.  It was very relaxing and quiet!  I did have some time to create and here's one of the cards I made!

A team page I belong to had a Sketch Challenge that I participated in!

Here's the card I made using the Flowering Vine Dies!  These dies are so beautiful!  This was my first time using the, but I can assure you it will not be the last!  I also used the True Love designer series paper for the background.  The colors are Basic Black and Bumblebee.  I love how the Bumblebee cardstock pops on the Basic Black layer!  I colored the centers of the daisies with my Dark Daffodil Stampin' Blend. Last, I added several Playing With Patterns Resin Dots to the cut image.

Here's the sketch that the team was challenged with!  It's a really great sketch!  I hope you'll give it a try!

Sailing Away

Hello there!  How's your day going?  It's a dark and rainy day at my place!  A perfect day to do some creating!  Before I get out to my workshop, I want to share a really cool card from one of my tutorial groups!  This is a great masculine card...I love how the Old World Paper 3D embossing folder looks like water!  Check it out below!

                    Sailing Home

·         Stamp Sets – Sailing Home (149457)

·         Card Stock – Night of Navy (100867); Whisper White (100730)

·         Stamp Pads – Night of Navy (147110)

·         Misc. – Smooth Sailing (149576); Stitched Nested Labels (149638); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder (153200); Sponge Brayers (141714)

           

Measurements:  

·         Whisper White:         8 ½” x 5 ½”                 3 ¾” x 5”         2 ½” x 2”         scraps

·         Night of Navy:           3 6/8” x 5 1/8”

Instructions:                                                           

·         Create Whisper White card base.

·         Ink sailboats using Night of Navy ink and stamp onto Whisper White scraps. Die-cut using Smooth Sailing dies.

·         Ink brayer with Night of Navy ink and apply to inside of Old World Paper 3D embossing folder. Insert Whisper White layer. Run through Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

·         Ink phrase with Night of Navy ink and stamp onto Whisper White card stock. Die-cut using Stitched Nested Labels

·         Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, adhere Whisper White layer to Night of Navy layer and then to card base. Adhere phrase.

·         Attach sailboats to card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Measurements:

·         Snail Mail DSP – 3 ¾” x 4 ½”

 

Instructions:

1.      Attach Snail Mail designer paper to Bermuda Bay cardstock and then to Basic White card base with Stampin’ Seal adhesive.

2.      Cut largest stitched circle from Basic White cardstock and stamp mushroom image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Color image with Stampin’ Blends. Attach to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

3.      Using the Snail Dies, cut small mushroom and smallest stitched circle from Bermuda Bay cardstock.  Attach to stamped image with Stampin’ Dimensionals, as seen in photo.

4.      Using the Snail Dies, cut large mushroom from Bumblebee cardstock and small mushroom from Blushing Bride cardstock and attach to stamped image with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

5.      Using the Piereced Blooms Dies cut one flower from Bumblebee cardstock and flower center from Soft Suede cardstock.  Attach flower to Bermuda Bay stitched circle with Stampin’ Dimensionals and center to flower with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

6.      Stamp sentiment with VersaMark onto Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Cut with Classic Label Punch and attach under flower with Mini Stampin’ Dimensional. Tie a bow with two pieces of Blushing Bride twine around the sentiment.
