Rooted In Nature - Masculine Birthday

Hi everyone!  YIKES!!! I'm getting ready to head down the mountain to go to Woodland to spend the night with my son so I can leave BRIGHT & EARLY in the morning for OnStage in Charolette, North Carolina!  I am beyond EXCITED!!

Real quick, before I start my adventure, I want to share one more card that we are making in my April classes!

This FABULOUS masculine card is created with the Rooted In Nature stamp set!  My card base is Whisper White. My first layer is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Early Espresso cardstock.  Next I attached two pieces of Wood Textures designer paper.  The lighter one is 3 1/2" X 3 3/4" and the darker one is 1 1/2" X 3 3/4".  I stamped the tree image from the Rooted In Nature stamp set twice (off setting them) in Memento Black Ink.  I also stamped the same image onto a piece of Sahara Sand cardstock and cut it out with the Natures Roots framelits.  After attaching some Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon, tying in into a knot and adding a Linen Thread bow, I attached the cut out tree with Mini Dimensionals.  Last I added a Happy Birthday sentiment!  Isn't it a GREAT masculine card?!?!

Tuesday's Tip - Stamping on Tile Coasters

Hello everyone! I had an unexpected surprise a couple of hours ago! My son, Seth came for a visit! After three years of traveling all over the United States, I LOVE having him close enough that he can just drop in! It's also my daughter, Sarah's 26th birthday today! I'm so glad I was able to spend time with her on Saturday...we have to celebrate in a couple of weeks!

Measurement:

•         Night of Navy card stock: 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼”; 3 ¼” x 2 ¼”

Instructions:

1. Stamp double tree stamp in Old Olive ink in center of Very Vanilla (2x3).  Stamp 3 single trees around the double tree in Mossy Meadow ink.  Adhere to Night of Navy layer.  Adhere with dimensionals to the plaid DSP layer.  Adhere to the top half of the card base.
2. Stamp “Seasons Greetings” in Night of Navy ink on Very Vanilla (1 3/4x2 ¼).  Adhere to Old Olive layer.  Adhere to bottom of card base.

Measurements:

Instructions:

1.    Fold Old Olive card stock in half to create card base and glue All is Bright Designer Series Paper to the left side.

2.    Place the “Merry” die onto Real Red card stock and run through the Big Shot using the Precision Base plate. Keep the little red bits from inside the words. Glue Real Red layer onto the Whisper White. Add the red bits inside the “Merry” using Liquid Glue. Adhere to front of card.

3.    Ink “Christmas” with Old Olive ink and stamp on 1” x 3” piece of Whisper White. Ink the frame with Shaded Spruce and stamp over the Christmas. Place coordinating frame die over stamped image and run through the Big Shot. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to add below the Merry die cut.

4.    Use Sprig Punch to cut two each out Old Olive and Shaded Spruce card stock and glue to card. Add two bows made from White Bakers Twine, securing with mini Glue Dots.

5.    Cut three flowers from a scrap piece of Real Red card stock using the die from Detailed Deer thinlints. Add to sprigs using glue dots and place a small pearl in centre of each flower.

6.       Spritz card with Champagne Shimmer Mist Paint (add a few drops of paint to a bottle mixed with Rubbing Alcohol).

Rooted In Nature - Pansy

Hello there and HAPPY Friday!  Do you have big plans for the weekend?  Do you celebrate Independence day this weekend and beyond?  Our celebrations start tonight!  Tonight starts with a Qualifier Open Barrel Race (which my daughter wants to participate in).  If she is in the top two for her age group she'll move on to the rodeo tomorrow night!  HOPING...HOPING...HOPING!!! There's also a Bull Riding Championship Saturday night along with softball tournaments, cribbage tournaments and Mary Poppins at our Performing Arts Center!  Sunday there are more softball tournaments, horseshoe tournaments, pickleball tournaments, train rides through town.  Our park is full of concessions through the 4th...lemonade, beer booths, kids swim free at the public pool.  Tuesday are our FIREWORKS and THE DESTRUCTION DERBY!  Wednesday is the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast, the Anvil Firing, our annual Pie and Ice Cream social, Arts & Crafts fair in the meadow, the Saw Mill, the Stamp Mill, the Jackson Museum and the Blacksmith shop are all FREE and we shut down Highway 299 for about forty-five minutes for our Main Street Parade!  It starts today and ends on Wednesday...lots of NOSTALGIA and FUN!  

Whatever your plans are I hope you find just a bit of time to create and here's just a little bit of INSPIRATION!

I created this card back at the beginning of the month (June 1st) when I made one that also looked like a poppy!  I was an a roll with this stamp set - Rooted In Nature!  Here's a PANSY made out of the same set!  

I just used my Stampin' Write Markers to color the center in Crushed Curry, the outside in Blackberry Bliss and stamped the image onto a 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. It is mounted onto a 3 7/8" X 3 7/8" piece of Blackberry Bliss cardstock then offset from a 3 3/4" X 3 3/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock.  The background is Garden Impressions designer paper!  The sentiment (from the same stamp set) is stamped on the smallest square cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits!

Father's Day Card....#GDP142

Hello everyone!  Happy Father's Day! I hope you are enjoying your day!! I know it's Sunday and I don't  usually blog on the weekends, but I wanted to share the Father's Day card that I made for my husband!  He's a great dad and loves our children so much...I am blessed and oh so grateful!

I also want enter it into the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge which ends tomorrow!  You should enter too!  Here's a link to join the fun Global Design Project ...I hop you will!


Here's the sketch...

...and here is my creation!  My card base is Early Espresso with a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" Whisper White mat.  The 4" X 5 1/4" Crumb Cake cardstock is embossed with the Pinewood Plank embossing folder! I mounted the weaved Wood Textures dsp onto a Early Espresso circle which is cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits.  Happy is cut with the Happy Birthday Thinlit from Wood Textures dsp. I stamped the trees using the Rooted In Nature stamp set onto Watercolor paper.The colors I chose are Balmy Blue, Tranquil Tide, Old Olive and Garden Green.  I used the Thoughtful Banners stamp set to stamp the Father's Day sentiment and punched it out with the Classic Label punch.  I tied Linen Thread into a triple bow to the end of the sentiment. Next I added a Metalic Brad to a Corrugated Heart from the Corrugated Elements embellisments and attached it over the Linen Thread with Mini Dimensionals!  I LOVE it...and so did my husband!

Rooted In Nature - Father's Day Card

Hello there!  It's been a busy morning here in Weaverville!  I had to go down the mountain to deliver orders and to take my husbands glasses to the eye doctors...they broke and need fixin'...well actually replacing!  It's so great that they are standing behind the warranty!

Remember last week when I share a beautiful card with a poppy on front...it was made with the Rooted in Nature stamp set.  Today I'd like to share another card I created with this same stamp set...TOTALLY different look!

Isn't it terrific?  My card base is Basic Black with a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock as the first layer.  I used the Pinewood Plank embossing folder to emboss a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Crumb Cake cardstock as my top layer.  The stamped image is stamped onto a 3 1/4" X 3 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock then layered onto a 3 3/8" X 3 3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock and finally onto a 3 1/2" X 3 1/2" piece of Basic Black cardstock.  I then attached it to the card base with dimensionals.  The sentiment, which is also from the Rooted in Nature stamp set is stamped onto a scrap piece of Wood Texture designer paper and I cut the banner ends by hand.  The ink colors that I used are Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake and Memento Black!    The inside of the card says....to thank you for all you do! Super cool Father's Day card!

Rooted In Nature - POPPY PARADE

Good morning everyone!!! HAPPY Friday!! Finally it’s here!  This was a loooong, short weekend!  I can’t wait ‘til schools out!  Come August you’ll be hearing me say...I can’t wait ‘til school starts!! Hahaha...never satisfied!

Guess what else is here!  IT'S TIME FOR THE NEW CATALOG!  You can order from it today...YAY!!!  

I have a card I created with the Rooted In Nature stamp set to share with you today!  It was one of the sets that demonstrators could pre-order and I've had fun with it!

My card base is Basic Black with a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock as the first layer.  My next layer is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of COASTAL CABANA (YAY...it's back) cardstock that is embossed with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.  Next I stamped my image with Poppy Parade and Basic Black ink...using my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp.  I used a new to me water color technique for the background (I'll be making a video soon). The image is stamped onto a 3 1/4" X 3 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock and mounted onto a 3 3/8" X 3 3/8" piece of Basic Black cardstock.  I attached the stamped image with dimensionals. Last I stamped the sentiment (also from Rooted In Nature pg. 143 in the new catalog), onto a small square cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits. I wrapped some black bakers twine around it to finish it of and also attached it with dimensionals!
