MORE Curvy Keepsake Boxes...an apple, pig, pumpkin, turkey, jack-o-lantern and Christmas ornament WITH MORE TO COME!!

WOW!!! I am IN LOVE with the new Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Die in the new Holiday Catalog!  I just can't stop making things with it....and I have so many other things I should be doing...need to be doing!  Like getting ready for my workshops that are coming up, working on some SWAP cards, doing a little scrapbooking...BUT NO!!!! I AM COMPLETELY OBSESSED and here is why!

Could this apple be any cuter!  I added some leaves from the Bird Builder Punch and the ABC's are made with the Little Letters Thinlits Die.

For the pig you simple use your circle punches!  The nostrils are made with Basic Pearls that I colored with my Blendabilities and the pupil of the eyes are candy dots!

A basic pumpkin...but wouldn't it be a beautiful at each setting on your Thanksgiving table.  The sentiment is from the For All Things stampset and the leaves are stamped in VersaMark with the Fall Fest stampset and then cut with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies.

The turkey just might be my favorite.  I used the Feathers framelits to cut out three colors of leaves....Cajun Craze, Blackberry Bliss and Hello Honey.  I used the triangle punch to make the nose and the heart punch for the wattle.  Again I used candy dots for the pupils of the eyes.  The sentiment is from the Gratitude For Days stamp set and the acorn is from the Autumn Wooden Elements set.


As an afterthought...I should have dry embossed the feathers!

Wouldn't this Jack-O-Lantern be cute to give to the students in your kids classroom?   I think my nine year will be able to make them herself.  She already knows how to use my Big Shot...I just need to teach her how to heat emboss that ghost which is from the Fall Fest stamp set and cut out with the Fun Fall Framelits Dies.  The BOO is stamped with the Blockhead Letters stamp set.

This Christmas ornament is so nice....kind of elegant with all the shine and glitter!  The JOY is from the Trendy Trims stamp set.  I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder.  I then cut it out with the oval ornament in the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits die and I cut another out of a scrap piece of Silver Foil Sheet!  I then added a new embellishment from the Holiday Catalog....All Is Calm Snowflakes.

I still have in the works...a reindeer, a horse, a cow, a chicken...and wouldn't a baseball, basketball, tennis or bowling ball be cute!  I have to put it AWAY for a few days...and get busy with some other projects...but STAY TUNED!  There's more to come!!

Scarecrow and Black Cat

Hey everyone!  Hope you are enjoying your three day weekend!  I am having a blast!  I played in my workshop today and LOVED IT!   It's always so relaxing for me to go out and create!  I've been wanting to try the new Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlit in the new Holiday Catalog...PAGE 11.  There have been so many cute things be made with it...LOVE THEM ALL...and I will be sharing, but I really wanted to come up with my own creations...and this morning a SCARECROW and BLACK CAT popped into my head!!

I just love how they came together...especially my scarecrow!  My brain is on overload...definitely sleeping with a notebook by my bed tonight!  

I know it's a bit early for Halloween...but sometimes you just have to listen to your brain...and do what it says!

Good morning....good morning...good morning!  It's gonna be a GREAT day...I can just feel it!!  I got up (4:45am)....against my better judgement...to go to bootcamp this morning.  When I arrived, it was just myself, another gal and our instructor and we were going to have a step class.  Well...if you know me at all...I AM TOTALLY UNCOORDINATED!  I can play sports....but I CANNOT DANCE...or anything similar to dancing!  My feet were so confused and kept going a different direction than my eyes were seeing my instructors feet go.  Some how...I must get what my eyes see to my brain and then to my feet...YIKES!!!  I just laughed...and giggled...and sweated (I was still moving after all) and giggled some more.  At the end of class the teacher told me it was the best I've ever done....I will chuckle about that all day!

I have a quick card to share with you today.  I made invitations for a friends daughters 8th birthday.

She is having a French Bistro Tea Party.  The silhouette is made with my Cricut as was the teapot, but the rest is all Stampin' Up!  I hope she has a FUN party!

WHAT A WEEK!!!

Well, it has been a CRAZY week!  I can't believe I haven't blogged since since the 21st of August!  My daughter is having a terrible time at school....she is so HOMESICK!  She came home on the 21st for the weekend so I mostly just hung out with her and talked.  THEN...on Sunday afternoon...we were eating an early dinner so my daughter could leave...and the sun started looking REALLY STRANGE.  My husband stepped outside to check it out and there was a HUGE plume of smoke......A FIRE WAS HEADING OUR WAY!  

My husband and older sons...went to check it out...and called to tell me to start packing my important things.  My mother-in-law had already been evacuated.  I packed all of my important papers, the dog kennel (the dogs were ready)  and then all of my photo albums, photo boxes and scrapbooks.  My kids all knew what was important to me.  They packed a few of their things, we all packed clothes for a few days...it was crazy.  

We were up on our roof watching the fire when the sheriff came by to tell us to evacuate...I was a little bit embarrassed to be up on the roof...but we were packed and I had taken photos of all of our STUFF...I had a peace about it!  My FAMILY WAS SAFE...and the rest was just STUFF...ALL REPLACEABLE!  God was and is in control...so I just had to let go and let God!  I was amazed at how at peace my heart was!

There was an AMAZING air attack on this fire....

...and an amazing ground support!

The evacuation was changed to advisory...so we were able to stay home...but didn't sleep.  We were watching the glow...to see if it got bigger...and the winds...hoping they wouldn't pick up!  Monday was a day of just waiting...what's gonna happen...we watched the planes dump retardant, the helicopters filling their buckets up with water and dumping.  It was an amazing sight.  Yesterday...Tuesday...all evacuation advisories were lifted and I unpacked.  


TODAY...I have to put my workshop back together....many of my photos were out there to be scrapbooked.  OH DARN...I have to work in my happy place!  I'm sure I'll find time to CREATE!

FEELING VERY BLESSED AND HAPPY!

Good morning everyone!  It's Thursday already!  GOSH the week has gone by FAST!!!  I had my second workshop on Redding, California yesterday.  I met four of the nicest new gals!  They didn't even get mad when I had forgotten to pack a punch!  I blamed it on my nine year old...because she had been getting into my already packed and organized boxes...so she could created!  I realized this morning that it WASN'T my nine year old!!!  IT WAS ME!!! I had taken it out of the box to make the wedding card I shared with you on Monday!   YIKES!!! EPIC FAIL on my part!  I'll have to confess next time we meet....or maybe they are now following my blog!  I HATE that I forgot it...(so embarrassing)...but I HATE more that I blamed it on Kathryn...she was so GREAT at putting things back!  


On to today though...I want to share a project we made at the workshop yesterday!

It's such a cute project!  I love the FUN colors.  I think these would be so cute to hold goodies in for my retreat ladies!  

I used the Fry Box die and my big shot to cut out the box and the inside back.  The sentiment if from the Chalk Talk stamp set.  The colors are Strawberry Slush, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Confetti Celebration Designer Paper!  I also used the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, the Extra Large Oval punch and a square punch (doesn't matter what size) to make the banners!

Wedding Card, Weekly Deals and Missing In Action

Good Morning!  I can't believe I haven't blogged in almost a week!  YIKES!!! So SORRY I have been MIA!!!  I had things ready to share with you...but I was busy at my moms, we took my daughter, Rebecca (I call her Becks) to college, had a wedding reception to attend, and had to get my two youngest kiddos...Adam and Kathryn...ready to start school.  They start today...Adam is in 7th grade and Kathryn is in 4th!  It's crazy how fast they grow up...and I remember thinking...I'm NEVER gonna make it through this...baby phase, toddler phase...and so on!

Today I want to share the card that I made for the wedding reception we went to on Saturday!  It turned out beautiful!

I know that it is a VERY FAMILIAR sketch!  I am finding that it is my go to sketch when I need to make a card for a special occasion.  

I love the  Whisper White monotone ...with a splash of Pistachio Pudding.  The sequins and pearls give it a bit of elegance.  The sentiment, which is from the Yippee-Skippee! stamp set, is just perfect!  The bow on the side makes it festive and the layers make it look like I spent hours creating it!  

I love it!!!

Corner Garden and MORE!!

Hey there!  Hope all is well today!  It's been a busy morning at my house!  I'm headed down the mountain to my mom's...about a five hour drive...for a visit!  I'll take the kiddos back to school clothes shopping while I'm down that way!  I can't believe school starts next Tuesday!!  This summer flew by!!!

Last night I had one of my monthly workshops!  It's always FUN to get together with these gals!  I wanted to share one of the cards we made using the Corner Garden stamp.

To make this card you simply ink the Corner Garden stamp with VersaMark, stamp it on a piece of Basic Black cardstock, cover it with white embossing powder and then heat emboss it with your heat gun.  After you have finished this process you simply color over the image with the brush side of your Blendabilitie Markers!  Isn't it gorgeous?!!  We added some butterflies that we made with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.  Basic Pearls or Rhinestones add a bit of bling.  I matted the 3 3/4 X 5 Basic Black piece on to a
 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Hello Honey cardstock and then adhered it to a 4 1/4 X 11 card base.
It's such a RELAXING card to make...COLORING!

I also wanted to share a new stamp set that is available.  I LOVE it and ordered mine today!  My youngest daughter was in the gymkhana at the fair this weekend....I see cute scrapbook pages and maybe a card for her teacher to thank her for teaching, supporting and allowing her to use her horse.  She so desperately wants a horse!
