Flashback Friday...Watermelons

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm headed out on my anniversary trip...first stop Woodland so our two youngest kids can hang out with their oldest brother! Next...onto Healdsburg for dinner...then to our hotel! FUN...FUN...FUN!!

I wanted to start having a Flashback Friday to share some of my FAVORITE older cards...I go back to them from time to time to find INSPIRATION! Today I want to share a few from my Watermelon Week back in 2014. I had a BLAST doing WEEKLY THEMED INSPIRATIONS and hope to bring some new and fresh theme ideas in the near future!

I love watermelon and have such fond memories of sitting outside on grandma's porch or front yard eating a entire circle of watermelon...spitting the seeds out...getting sticky from the juice! I hope this brings wonderful memories to you as well as FUN inspiration!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today...I know you have lots to do...our lives are so full and busy!  Have a FANTASTIC weekend! I'll be back on Monday!

Another BUSY day of kids, company and cooking!  We're leaving tomorrow to celebrate our 27th anniversary...and I am so excited! One of the things we are going to do is go to a San Francisco Giants game on Saturday.  I'm so excited...Hunter Pence MIGHT be back for this game...HOPING...HOPING...HOPING!!!

Other news...and you're gonna LOVE this...I viewed a preview of the NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG today and it is AMAZING!

I have a couple new KUDO cards to share with you!  I LOVE that my uplines send me cards to congratulate and encourage me!! I feel appreciated and I get more ideas!!!

This card came today and I just LOVE it! It's very simple...no bling or anything (so no extra postage) and so CUTE too!

Swirly Bird and Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! I'm really late posting today...it's been crazy! Started with spin class at 6:30am...then a bike ride with a friend before it got to HOT...had to get my son to a birthday party (but first had to get a tire tube to float the river and a gift), then home to water, watch a movie with my daughter, shopping, farmers market for BLT Wednesdays and VBS!  I'm just now sitting down to blog!

I made this card last night to participate in The Paper Players Sketch Challenge! I haven't participated in a challenge for a long time...so I had a lot of FUN!

My card base is Crumb Cake with the first mat cut from Island Indigo cardstock. The designer paper is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Paper Series (it's BEAUTIFUL paper)! I took a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, ran it through the Woodgrain embossing folder and matted it onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. The bird's nest is cut using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits from Soft Suede cardstock.  The bird is cut using the Birds and Blooms Thinlits from So Saffron cardstock. I added a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and a sentiment stamped on Whisper White cardstock from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I colored a Basic Pearl black using a Project Life Journaling pen....you could also use a black sharpie (I didn't have one handy) for the birds eye!

Doesn't this thinlit make a great birds nest?!?

Next time I'm gonna add some Linen Thread or separated Burlap Ribbon to make it look like pieces a momma bird would have brought back to her nest!

Below is the inside of the card...very simple with room to write a special note!

Here is the sketch that I followed!  You can add your creation by clicking here - The Paper Players!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow to share some more FUN ideas!

Swirly Bird Pinwheel

Good Morning friends! Happy Tuesday! It's Soup Kitchen day today and I want to get a bike ride in so I have a QUICK post to share with you this morning!

This is the final card we made at my July workshop! I created this card using the Swirly Bird stamp set.  I stamped the image in Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point and added a button in the center with a piece of Baker's Twine tied in a knot and threads separated. The sentiment is from the Birthday Banners stamp set and is stamped in Tempting Turquoise. The Whisper White cardstock that I stamped the pinwheel on is 3" X 3" and the Tempting Turquoise mat is 3 1/4" X 3 1/4".  It's a simple and cute card...with so many possibilities! Think of the colors you can use...how 'bout multiple pinwheels!

This is a SUPER FUN set...I'll be showcasing it more...I'm CERTAIN!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

Sunflower FUN!

Hello and Happy Monday! I hope you ENJOYED every minute of your weekend! Mine was exhausting! We helped friends move from Weaverville to Yuba City...started at 8am and got back home at 1:am Sunday morning! We were all so tired that we did not do one thing on Sunday except lay around and watch a S.F. Giants game! Today is starting off great...I went to the gym at 5:30am and then for a bike ride with a friend...I feel GREAT! It's amazing how exercise and fresh air can lift your spirits!

I have a great card to share with you today. We made it at my last workshop. I LOVE sunflowers and I LOVE figuring out ways to make sunflowers with different stamps!

I used the Swirly Bird stamp set to stamp the center of the sunflower in Soft Suede.  The petals were stamped in Dijon Delight using the a leaf stamp from the same set. I used the Swirly Scribbles Thinlit Dies to cut another center which I adhered and then brushed with Wink of Stella. The Whisper White base cardstock way dry embossed using the Petal Burst embossing folder! I added a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and attached it to a Soft Suede card base. It's a simple card to make...but so FUN!

I don't know if you remember, but back in 2014 I had a SUNFLOWER week! I think I might have to do some theme weeks again! Below are the sunflower cards I made back then...just for inspiration!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your Monday! I hope you join me again tomorrow!

Swirly Bird

Good Morning! Good Morning! Are you ready for the weekend? It will be nice to have my husband home...his weekend starts today! He made it...his first week back...four, ten hour days! We're gonna be busy helping some friends move this weekend, but I'm hoping to get out to my workshop to create...I have so many ideas swimming around in my head!
Today's card is a simple card that I just love! The Swirly Bird stamp set that I made the flowers with is FAST becoming a favorite! It's such a versatile set with so many possibilities! I stamped the outside of the flower in Daffodil Delight, the inside in Delightful Dijon and the leaves in Wild Wasabi. The Sentiment is from Best Birds and is stamped in Soft Suede.  I stamped on a 3 3/4" X 5" piece of Whisper White cardstock and attached it (with dimensionals) to a 4 X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock and then attached it to my So Saffron card base.  I did stamp off a flower on the inside of the card...after my workshop...but have no photo!

This card was inspired by the card pictured below that was part of the swap I just participated in. There are so many color combos you can choose! Such a FUN set to have!

Thanks so much for stopping by...I love that you follow my blog! I also love it when I hear from you and get to see what you've created!   Have a WONDERFUL weekend! Spend time doing something you LOVE!!!

Flourish Thinlits

Hey There and HAPPY Thursday!  I had a FANTASTIC workshop yesterday! I welcomed two new gals with a total of 14 ladies! Such a FUN group! I had a delicious lunch with my daughter (who went as my helper) and a couple of friends.  We went to Kahuna's in Redding...a delicious Mongolian BBQ. It was a stir fry bar...like a salad bar, you pick what you want...fill your bowl...take it to the cook and he grills it....DELICIOUS!

Well...now that I have you all HUNGRY...I want to share one of the cards we made yesterday!

This BEAUTIFUL card is made with the Flourish Thinlits, Floral Boutique designer paper and the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set (for the sentiment). I also wrapped a piece of Smokey Slate 1/8" Stitched Ribbon around the sentiment and tied a bow at the top!  Of course I had to add some Basic Pearls (Rhinestones would be nice too) to bling it up a bit!  I put a small flourish inside of the card, but forgot to take the photo...sorry...it's a nice touch to a lovely card!

I want to remind you of the July promotion (just in case you aren't on my mailing list...and why aren't you on my mailing list...hehehe).

For every $50 you spend before tax and shipping during the month of July 2016, Stampin' Up! will send you a coupon code for $5 to be used August 2 thru 31, 2016.  DON'T lose that email...they'll only send it once!

I also wanted to be sure you know about the new bundle that is available August 2, 2016. It is FABULOUS!! I'm headed out to my workshop to play with it today!

The item # for this bundle is 144328 and it is available August 2, 2016

As always, thank you for stopping by today!  I LOVE what I do...and I LOVE sharing what I do...so come back to see what I have for tomorrow!

Pop of Paradise and Love You Lots

Hi There! I hope you're ready for your day!! I'm on my way down the mountain to Redding to my workshop! I've missed my ladies bunches...so I'm excited to see them!

Remember that team 2016-2017 Catalog Kick-off Swap I participated in at the end of May?!?  I have several more cards from that swap to share with you so I thought I'd start with a couple today!

This card is made using the Pop of Paradise stamp set!  I haven't played with it at all, but can't wait to get my hands on it! I found some cute FLAMINGO playing cards at Michael's and a few other FLAMINGO things...my minds is spinning!

This really cute card is made with the new Hostess stamp set on page 199 of the catalog called Love You Lots!  I haven't used this one either...but can't wait!  I love how this the elephant is stamped on Vellum! Check out our new ribbon too!

Well...that's it for today!  Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by!  It's so GREAT to be back to blogging...see you Thursday!

Floral Frames and Botanical Builder Framelits

Hello everyone!  Hopin' your day is going great!  Mine has been busy!  Had to take my son's truck into the repair shop...pay bills at the Dr.'s office I work at...pay bills at my church...run kids around...YIKES!  I'm ready to sit and relax, but it's almost dinner time!  THANK GOODNESS for left overs!!

I have a card to share with you from my May workshops! It is one of my FAVORITE cards...I LOVE the colors...the design...I just LOVE it! The sad thing about it is that the framelits are retired as well as the designer paper...fortunately I stocked up (on the dp)!

For this card I used the Large Polka Dot embossing folder on Crumb Cake cardstock which I had already layered onto a piece of Delightful Dijon cardstock. I used Botanical Garden's designer paper to punch a 2 1/2" circle to fit in the flower from the Floral Frames framelit that was cut in Delightful Dijon. The rest of the flowers were cut using the Botanical Builders framelits. The leaves were punched using the Bird Builder punch, which is also SADLY retired!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Enjoy your evening!!  I hope you find time to create!

Flower Patch with Flower Fair

Good morning crafty friends! I hope you are ENJOYING your summer!!! Life is finally getting back to normal here. The wedding is over and it was BEAUTIFUL! My husband went back to work today after carpal tunnel and nerve re-positioning surgery and summer vacation is winding down...Adam and Kate start back to school August 16th.  This past weekend I was back in my workshop...getting ready for my July workshops...It was JOYFUL! Creating is so relaxing and therapeutic for me!  I'll be sharing those creations after this weeks class...but until then I have a few other creations to share with you! It feels so good to be back at it!  Thanks for hanging in there with me!!

This is a card I never shared that we made in my April workshops. The colors I chose are Soft Suede, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Basic Black.  I used the Flower Fair Framelits (#133731)to cut a flower from a piece of Neutrals Designer Paper. I placed the designer paper onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock to see where I needed to stamp my image...removed the designer paper and stamped using the Flower Patch (#134207) stamp set.  I tied some ribbon around and adhered the dp with dimensionals to the stamped cardstock and then to my card base of Soft Suede.

For the inside of my card, I used the same stamp set (Flower Patch) for the sentiment and cute little flower! I want to try this design with some of the new framelits...FUN...FUN...FUN!!!

Thanks so much for following my blog! I'm sorry I've been missing in action for over a month!  I sure am HAPPY to be back!  Have a FANTASTIC DAY!!

I wanted to share a couple of photos from Sarah and Andy's wedding. Their photographer was Adam from Be Authentic. I can't wait to see the rest of the photos! Sarah was a BEAUTIFUL bride!
