Lighthearted Leaves...ONE MORE TIME!
Hey There! Well...it's 8:00 o'clock Friday evening and I'm finally getting around to blogging! Better LATE than NEVER...I suppose!
I joined a swap in my Stampin' UP! group where we each make a card, mail it to the organizer (me) and the organizer sorts them, makes sure every one has one of each card, and sends them out to each of the participants!
Tonight...I have the card I made for the swap. I will share the others next week...so be on the look out!
I just LOVE how this card turned out! I signed up to use the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set and I've been playing with it all week. This is what I came up with.
The colors I chose are Early Espresso, Tip Top Taupe, Very Vanilla, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow.
I dry embossed the Tip Top Taupe piece of cardstock with the Woodland Textured embossing folder. The leaves were heat embossed with VersaMark and white embossing powder which I then sponged with my daubers and the above ink colors. I also used the Leaflits framelits to cut the group of Mossy Meadow leaves out. I embellished with Linen Thread, curled thin strips of Mossy Meadow and an acorn from the Woods Elements. I should mention that the designer paper that I stamped the maple leaf image on is from the Typeset paper pack!
As always...don't forget to add a little something to the inside of your card. This sentiment and leaf are both part of the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. Again, I heat embossed the leaves with VersaMark and White embossing powder and sponged color over the top...a BEAUTIFUL look for a FALL card!
I sure hope you and the gals in my group love my card and are INSPIRED!
I sure to love what I do...and sharing what I do! Thanks bunches for following along....even late on a Friday evening!
ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND!!

Leaflit Hello
Hello! We have clear skies again today! YIPPEE! I'm a bit scatter brained this morning! I was looking forward to having lunch with a couple of girlfriends down in Redding...then my kiddos informed me it is Thursday, not Wednesday and I realized I pay bills at the doctors office today. Somehow...I LOST AN ENTIRE DAY! Boy was I embarrassed when I had to call and confess what I had done! Are there any BRAIN VITAMINS?
Well...I do have a card for you today...I didn't forget that! It's another FALL card!
For this card I used the Woodgrain embossing folder on a piece of Tip Top Taupe cardstock and distressed the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I cut leaves using the Leaflit framelits out of Mossy Meadow, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey and Blackberry Bliss. Next I attached the leaves to each other to fit on my card and cut the word hello out with my Little Letters Thinlits. I finished by distressing the leaves with the same Chocolate Chip Ink! The embellishments I attached are Into the Woods Elements from the new Holiday catalog. I also tied a piece of Burlap twine that I cut from a piece of Burlap ribbon.
Don't forget to decorate the inside of your card. I simply cut part of a leaf with my Leaflit framelit, ran it through the Woodgrain embossing folder and distressed it with ink. It's a simple, yet lovely touch!
I was inspired to make this card by a card I saw on Pinterest, but I wanted to use my Stampin' Up! toosl. Here's my inspiration!
Thank you so much for checking in with me everyday or when you can! You can buy supplies to make this and other of my projects at my ONLINE STORE.

Lighthearted Leaves
I have another fall card for you today!
This card is made with the Lighthearted Leaves stamp set. It's a really FUN set. I used the Joseph's Coat technique! I just love how it turned out!
The colors are Blackberry Bliss, Tangelo Twist, Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Basic Black and Cajun Craze.
The framelits I used are Chalk Talk and Leaflets.
Below is a how to on the technique! I hope you'll give it a try!
Next stamp the cardstock with VersaMark, cover with Clear Embossing powder and heat. |
Last cover entire piece of cardstock with Memento Black ink. I just rubbed my ink pad directly on the cardstock. Then wipe away the black ink...leaving only the colored images. BEAUTIFUL! |
Remember to put just a little something on the inside of your card
...a special touch!

Lighthearted Leaves
Good morning everyone! Another blue sky day here today! Hopefully the winds stay in our favor and keep the smoke from the fires away! I hope your day starts out great and ends even better!
I love fall...and today I have a fall card to share with you! Maybe if I make fall cards...it will bring the season sooner! A girl can hope can't she?!
The colors I chose for this card are Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze. I cut the leaves using the Leaflets framielits and ran a couple of them through the Woodgrain framilt. The large maple leaf if cut using a piece of Bohemian designer paper. The banner is cut from a piece of Designer Paper in the In-color 2014-2016 pack. I used the Zig Zag embossing folder for the first layer of the card and I INKED EVERYTHING....to make it feel a bit rustic. The wooden acorn is from the Holiday catalog.
This sentiment is from a new stamp set that is in the Holiday Catalog called Lighthearted Leaves I also did the same layers of paper on the inside as I did on the card front...and of course, I inked them!
I'm hoping fall will be in the air soon! I think I'll make some more cards to get things going!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a FABULOUS day!

Big News!
Hello there! Happy MONDAY! Did you have a FABULOUS weekend? I hope you found time to create! We had a SMOKE FREE weekend! The winds blew the smoke from our fires in another direction, so we were able to go outside and enjoy the blue skies! I was also blessed to be able to watch my son, Adam play a double header baseball game at Big League Dreams in Redding, California! Next weekend we go to Medford, Oregon...should be FUN!
I'm part of a Facebook Hop tonight at 5pm...and this is the card I will be sharing!
I really wanted this card to have a simple elegance to it so I chose Whisper White on Whisper White. I also used Smoky Slate as my first layer and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. I embossed my second two layers with the Elegant Dots embossing folder. I used my Oval framelits to create a frame in my top layer, with my sentiment showing through. The doves were made with the Bird Builder punch. This is a punch that I never thought I would use, but I use it OFTEN! I love the look of the Basic Pearls that I attached in the embossed circles. I used the Big News stamp set for the outside and the inside of my card, stamping with Smokey Slate ink.

You know I love to decorate the inside of my cards. For this one I have two layers, the bottom layer in Smoky Slate and the top layer in Whisper White. I stamped the rest of the sentiment and added a flower using the Itty Bitty punch set and leaves using the Bird Builder punch. Don't forget that Basic Pearl as the flower center!
I hope you'll click on the Facebook Icon up in the left corner and follow along! It's so much fun and there are some VERY creative gals participating...TWELVE of them in fact!
THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by today! I hope you are INSPIRED to CREATE and get to make something today! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!

Garden In Bloom
Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope Thursday is treating you well! I had a workshop yesterday with 11 ladies joining me! I had a great time with some really FUN gals and good friends! I am very blessed!
We made four cards and today I want to share the last one. (I've already shared the other three!) I hope you like it!
I used the Garden In Bloom stamp set. First thing I did was run a piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock through my Big Shot using the Brick Wall embossing folder and I inked the raised side with Whisper White ink. I stamped the flower in Hello Honey and Old Olive (the outline is in Memento Black). To dress it up a bit I cut a small piece of Natural Chevron Striped ribbon into a banner, added a Neutrals Designer Button with bows tied behind it with pieces of White Jute and Burlap Ribbon! I LOVE this card!
Of course I had to stamp just a bit in the inside of the card....a stamped off flower! The center of the flowers is stamped with Soft Suede ink!
Isn't it a GREAT card.....and it comes together so quickly!

Definitely Dahlia
Good morning! Hoping you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday! It's a busy day for me! First I'm teaching my spin class...then I'm headed down the mountain to my Workshop! I can't wait to get down there and see all the gals! I'm so blessed to have such WONDERFUL ladies at my workshops!
I want to share another project that we will be making at today's class.
I made this card using the Definitely Dahlia stamp set. I simply stamped on a piece of Typeset designer paper using Memento Black ink. I added a butterfly punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch and some 5/8" Hello Honey striped, cotton ribbon. The sentiment is from the Happy Happenings stamp set and punched out with the Washi Label punch. I added some Basic Pearls and Candy Dots to finish it off nicely.
I love the inside of this card. It is quite stunning I think! This card is a simple, elegant card to make.
The color options are endless! I choose Basic Black, Hello Honey and Very Vanilla...but I have visions of many other colors!
I hope you have found a bit of inspiration today! Thank you so much for faithfully stopping by!

Over the Rainbow
Well...yesterday was the first day of school! It was kind of tough! I'm always ready for summer vacation...then I'm always ready for school to start...but today was WAY TO QUIET!!! I kind of wandered around aimlessly...not knowing where to start. If you can believe it...I didn't even go into my workshop!
I do have a card to share with you though!
I used the Over the Rainbow stamp set for the rainbow using Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Perfect Plum inks. The sentiment...from the same set, is stamped in Memento Black ink.
The clouds were made with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. They were stamped with Tempting Turquoise ink and punched with the Tree Builder punch.
I stamped part of the sentiment on the front, and part of the sentiment on the inside simply by inking the words that I wanted. I decorated the inside with more rainbow colors and added another butterfly that I punched with the Bitty Butterfly punch. Of course, I had to add a butterfly to the card front as well...and a few Basic Pearls.
It's a great card to send someone who needs just a bit of encouragement to keep going don't you think!
Well...I'm getting ready for my workshop tomorrow, so I will say goodbye for now! You have a FABULOUS day and THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by!

Trust God Easel Card
Good morning! I did it! I posted before I left to go down the mountain to do our back-to-school clothes shopping! I hope I don't have to wait for hours in road work!!! Blessings to you this Wednesday morning....have a WONDERFUL day!
I'm back with another easel card and instructions for you. I hope you'll give it a try!
For today's project I wanted something that I could just sit on my desk on window seal. Something with inspiring words and that is beautiful to look at. I believe I accomplished it!
I chose my favorite color combination...Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, Basic Black and Very Vanilla. I added a new favorite color to the pack...Perfect Plum.
I love the Timeless Elegance designer paper and used it as a layer on my project.
The stamp sets I used are Trust God, Butterfly Basics and Awesomely Artistic. These are all FANTASTIC stamp sets with SO MANY POSSIBILITIES! I also stamped the piece of Very Vanilla cardstock using my stamp block by coloring it with Bermuda Bay marker and spritzing with water, then just using my Old Olive marker on the stamp block to color the two left corners. Here are a couple of close up photos!

Now...let me show you how I made the card base.
First you need a piece of 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" cardstock. I used Basic Black. You'll also need your Simply Scored board.
Place you 8 1/2" X 5 1/2" piece of cardstock landscape on your board. |
Score at the 4 1/4" mark. |
Turn your cardstock counterclockwise and score at the 2 1/2" mark....only down to the score mark you just scored at the 4 1/4" mark. |
Turn back to the landscape position and score at the 6 3/8" mark....only down to the score you just made at the 2 1/2" mark. (mine is a bit messy...but I didn't worry about it because it won't show). |

From Land to Sea - Masculine Birthday Card
Hey there friends! How are things in your neck of the woods! Hopefully all is well! It's a little less smokey here today...but still bad. I sure hope it rains soon...enough to put these unreachable...uncontained fires out! Otherwise it's gonna be smokey for awhile! I can't complain though...my family is SAFE and I still have my home!!
Last night I had a workshop and we made four cards. I shared one yesterday...my easel card and I want to share another one today! I have some gals that need masculine cards (I'm VERY bad at masculine cards) so I decided to add one to this class. It's VERY SIMPLE...here goes....
I used the From Land to Sea stamp set. I just bought this set specifically so I could make some masculine cards. First I stamped the grass in Old Olive using the Work of Art stamp set. I then stamped the lighthouse image with Memento Black ink and colored it in with my Cherry Cobbler marker. I sponged around the lighthouse lightly with Bermuda Bay ink.
I used the 1 1/4" Cherry Cobbler Striped Grosgrain ribbon for the band and added a few 1/8" mini brads. I added a birthday sentiment to the inside, but kept it simple...nothing else.
I'm happy with how it turned out...I really need to step out of my box and try new things...and masculine cards is one of them!
Thanks bunches for stopping by again today! I'm gonna take my kiddos back to school clothes shopping tomorrow, so I'm gonna try to get a post done EARLY in the morning...be sure to check back in! Before I leave you...here are this weeks specials!

It's Wild - Easel Card
Hello everyone! I hope you are having a FANTASTIC day! I have a workshop tonight...and OF COURSE I waited til the last minute to prepare! Going to Maui kinda messed me up a bit!
I've been wanting to try an easel card, so that's what I did today and boy was it FUN! I LOVE how it turned out!
I used the It's Wild stamp set for the backgrounds...first time I've used this stamp and I LOVE it! Can't wait to play with it some more! (Maybe after my workshop tonight...lol) I chose Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White as my colors.
The sentiment if from the Friendly Wishes stamp set.
I also used the Bitty Butterfly to punch the small butterfly using Melon Mambo designer paper form the Brights Designer Stack and the Bold Butterfly framelit to make the larger butterfly using designer paper from the Everyday Chic paper pack.
I'm not certain how others write on their easel cards, but I decided to decorate the back of the card with a simple Bitty Butterfly (no rhinestones so it will lay flat)....that way I can share a personal note.
Well...that's it! I'll type up some directions for an easel card and share later this week...with another card idea. Now I have to go get ready!
Thanks so much for stopping by! ENJOY your evening!!

Happy Birthday Watercolor Wash
Good Thursday morning to you! I'm back on the mainland...catching up on sleep, laundry, cleaning and HOPEFULLY a little creating! I must admit though...I had such a WONDERFUL time with my family in Maui, that I didn't have time to miss my workshop!
If you follow my blog or my facebook page, you already know that we celebrated our 26th anniversary while on our trip. That day we went to the top of Haleakala to see the sun rise.
It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!
We also celebrated my son, Seth's 22nd birthday while we were there. Today I want to share that card with you!
For this card I again used the Watercolor Wash stamp set using Old Olive ink. I added a bit of GRUNGE with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set in stamped off Island Indigo. I used my punches to make a few different sizes of circles and ran them through the Elegant Dots embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set.
Of course...I added a little to the inside of the card! My son loved it! I was excited to hear that he has saved all the cards I've made him! I'm gonna have to send my kids some just because cards!
I'm happy to be back home and back in my workshop today. I'll be back tomorrow with something new!
I LOVED being with my family in a BEAUTIFUL place....I LOVE being a mom and a wife...I've been truly BLESSED!

The family.... We were a strange
little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and
toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money,
locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the
same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common
thread that bound us all together.
