Daisy

Good morning crafty friends! It's Friday...are you ready for your weekend? I am so excited! Saturday is our 28th anniversary and our son is moving to Chester, California...just under three hours from me, so we are going to Lake Almanor for a long weekend to celebrate and help him get settled! We're staying in a beautiful home on the lake that a friend rents out when she's not there. As much as I hate getting in a swimming suit...we're gonna spend a lot of time on the lake and on our bicycles!! It's an AMAZING lake. My husband and I did a bicycle ride around it a few years back and saw it for the first time!  It's like a smaller Lake Tahoe...without all the crowds! We're leaving this morning, YIPPEE!!!!

I have a great card to share with you this morning! It's one of my favorites lately!  It's made with the Daisy punch which is now available for order! If you come to my classes and told me you wanted one...they are on their way!!!

I belong to a Demonstrator Planning facebook page, where we share ideas and projects...I was INSPIRED!!

For my card I embossed the Whisper Whited card base using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder. Next I embossed a square piece of Whisper White card stock with Layered Leaves embossing folder and added it to a Crushed Curry mat.  I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut a square using watercolor paper. I used my Aqua Painter to brush a Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry background (I've been using these colors a bunch lately).  The sentiment is from the Beautiful You stamp set and is stamped in Crushed Curry ink. I punched one daisy in Thick Whisper White card stock, cut it in half, curled the petals with my bone folder, layered one half on top of the other and attached it to the water color square with a dimensional. The center is a 3/4" circle that I cut twice, making it an oval, then embossed it using the Softly Falling embossing folder! I added a couple Glimmer Enamel Dots to balance the card a bit.  I JUST LOVE THIS CARD!!! It would make a beautiful birthday card, thinking of you card, thank you card...it can be used for any occasion!

Here is the card that INSPIRED me!  I pretty much just copied it...I LOVED IT THAT MUCH!!! I saved the photo so I could give credit, but I can't make out the demonstrator's name...I'm so sorry.  She is on the Artisan team and not from the United States (you can tell by her watermark and her sentiment). I'm gonna have to retrace where I found this card so I can give her proper credit!

I hope that you love this card as much as I do! Even more I hope that you are inspired to go out and create just as I was!

THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by today!  ENJOY your weekend!  Stay safe!!

Pop of Paradise!

Good morning!  It's a beautiful morning...I'm up early and ready to go! I'm working today and have to be there at 7:30am! I'll be there ALL DAY...so no time to create...boohoo!!! I love getting out into my workshop even if it's only for an hour...maybe after dinner!

I'd like to share another card that we made at my July classes. It's FUN and and BRIGHT colors can be used for ANY OCCASION!

I LOVE this card! My card base is Whisper White and the first layer is Basic Black. Next I stamped my background on Whisper White card stock with the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  The long fronds are stamped with Lemon Lime Twist ink and the shorter fronds are stamped with Emerald Envy Ink. I used my Touches of Texture stamp set for the speckled effect because it just seemed to white where in the empty spaces! I used my Large Layering Ovals framelits to cut the scalloped oval in Basic Black.  I cut the largest stitched oval (from the Stitched Shapes framelits) in Whisper White and used my Pop of Paradise stamp set to stamp my flamingo! I used my Basic Black and Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Write markers to color the flamingo! I sponged the sky with Pool Party ink. The water is stamped with the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set in Bermuda Bay. I used a dobber to add a lighter version of Bermuda Bay!  Last I added some Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine!

Here's the inside of the card! It is stamped just like the background on the front of the card, but only in one corner!  That would be SUPER CUTE stamped on an envelope too!  I need to start including envelopes...then my gals will have all that they need to send their cards...well...minus the stamp!

This is such a CHEERY card! I think I'll use it for a church birthday card! One down and just a few to go! Funny...July had TWENTY birthdays and August has FOUR! I'm hoping I can get ahead of things!

Well...that's it for today! THANKS SO MUCH for stopping by to see what's been happening in my world! Have a TERRIFIC DAY!!

Carols of Christmas....in July

Good Morning Everyone! WOW...it's Wednesday already and this month is almost over! Time is just flying by...way to fast! Is it flying by for you?  I don't want to miss any of it...especially with my kiddos and my husband! I have five adult children and two still at home.  Adam will be a sophomore this...high school goes by so quickly and Kate will be a 7th grader! I'm tired of the hot weather, but I so don't want the summer to end! Even though they bicker at times...about DUMB STUFF...I LOVE having them around (although I did kick them out of the house for a while the other day because they wouldn't stop picking at each other!)

Here I am, not wanting time to go by so fast...but I'm speeding ahead and share a Christmas project I created yesterday! Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE going out to my workshop and creating? Have I bothered to tell you how much I LOVE sharing what I create with you?  It's TRUE...I DO!!!

I'm SUPER excited to share today's project...I think it's BEAUTIFUL!!!

This project was inspired by a gal that attends one of my classes. Thanks Chris for sharing your camping tag with us at class!!!

This would make a BEAUTIFUL tag for a gift or an ornament for your Christmas tree. It would also be beautiful on front for a card.

Stampin' Up! has a new Carols of Christmas bundle available to customers August 1st. Demonstrators were able to pre-order it.  I wasn't sure it was one I would use, but the TREES did it for me...and then I had this vision for a project and I am so glad that I got it! Let me show you how I created it!

First I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut my frame. I used the largest circle with the next size down inside of it as pictured.

You end up with the photo below!

I cut twelve!  The cool thing is you're left with twelve centers for another project.  I used multipurpose glue to adhere eleven of the frames, one on top of the other for thickness.  I cut a solid back from Whisper White card stock using, again, the largest stitched circle framelit. I also cut the same size circles from vellum and window sheet card stock. I embossed my vellum with the Softly Falling embossing folder and attached it to the back using multipurpose glue...only around the edges!

Here is the back of the project. After attaching the vellum to the back, I added trees cut with the Card Front thinlits (from the Carols of Christmas bundle) using Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper. I attached the trees with dimensionals. The deer is cut from Early Espresso card stock and is glued to the tree.

After adhering the vellum to the back and the details to the vellum, I attached my frame, over the details to the vellum with multipurpose glue. You can see the layers here.

Next, I glued the edges only of the window sheet circle to the top layer and then topped the window sheet with another frame.

I finished it off by adding bows cut with my Pretty Pines framelits. They are cut with Whisper White card stock, Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper and Silver Foil paper.  The bow, which is GORGEOUS, is tied with Silver 3/8" Metallic Edged ribbon.

I really LOVE this project. I want to create it again with window sheets on both sides to use as an ornament for my tree.  I'll add the same scene to the other side using one more piece of vellum.  I'll also probably have to add a few more layers to my frame!

This beautiful bundle will be available for customers to order on August 1st. I'm so happy I have mine....I LOVE THOSE TREES!!

I hope you love this as much as I do! I'm starting to think more about Christmas now!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by and allowing me to share what I love to do with you!  Happy Wednesday!

Tuesday's Tip Video - Acrylic Block Stamping and High Tide Cards

Hey there everyone! Here we are...Tuesday again and I have another video for you! I'm working out the kinks and things are coming along pretty well! I'm SUPER EXCITED that I'm able to make my videos and have another way to share what I love to do with you!
Today's video will teach you how to make these BEAUTIFUL backgrounds with your acrylic blocks! It's really easy, quick and FUN! You'll want to make lots of cards and even scrapbook pages using this technique!
So...what did you think?  Are you ready to try it?!?! I hope you will! Here are a couple of cards I created using this technique!
Here's a photo of the background shown in the video...you can see where I missed inking and spritzing in the top left and right corners! That's okay though...and you can see why in the next photo!
For the next step, I used my markers to color the sand stamp from the High Tide stamp set.  I used Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie ink on the top and Crumb Cake on the bottom for a beach look! I also used Memento Black ink to stamp some grass and bird silhouettes!

For the final card I added two chairs cut with my Seasonal Layers thinlits.  I cut them in Basic Black for the silhouette effect! The Side by Side sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.  It's perfect for my anniversary card to my husband!  We celebrate 28 years on Saturday!
Here is another card that I made using the same technique!  This cards sentiment is from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set. I was inspired to make this card by a card challenge on my team Facebook page.  Our fearless leader shared swap cards from her earned trip to Thailand and challenged us to use one of these swap cards, CASE it (copy and share everything) and create our own card!
Here is the card I chose as my inspiration! Isn't it BEAUTIFUL?  Sadly, I have know idea who created it so I cannot give credit where credit is due!!
Well...that's it for today!  I hope you now have the bug to get out there and create...to try something new and just have FUN....creating! Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by and allowing my to share my video, my cards and my inspiration!

Embossing Paste and Medallion Mask

Good morning my CREATIVE followers! How's your Friday looking? I have NOTHING to do today...so I'm just gonna relax! I am heading down to Woodland this afternoon to see my two oldest sons! My twelve year old daughter and I are gonna take them to dinner, spend the night and then head over to Walnut Creek to go back to school shopping with my oldest daughter, Sarah! They have a GREAT Forever 21 and Kate really wants to have her sister there to help her pick out her SEVENTH GRADE wardrobe!  I LOVE that they LOVE each other and that my married daughter would take this time to be with her little sister...it's such a BLESSING!!!

This morning I have another fun card that we made at my July classes.

This card is created using the new Embossing Paste and the Pattern Party Decorative Masks. These are such FUN products and so versatile!

I started with a Whisper White card base and chose Basic Black for my first layer.  For the next layer I added texture to another piece of Whisper White card stock by using the Medallion Mask and Embossing Paste. It dries very quickly and when it was ready I used my Sponge Brayer to add color using Tempting Turquoise ink.  The really cool thing about using the sponge brayer is that you can make it as light or dark as you want!

Here is a close up of the dried embossing paste.

I used my Stitched Shapes framelits for the sentiment as well as the Whisper White ring. The DELIGHTFUL Crushed Curry flower is from the Support Ribbon framelits. The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set and is backed with a piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock that's cut with the 2" Circle Punch. The center of the flower is a Clear Faceted Gem.

SUPER SIMPLE yet so pretty! I hope you'll try it out and find that you love it as much as I do!

Hey...THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by today!  THANK YOU for allowing me to share what I LOVE to do...with you!  Have a FANTASTIC weekend!

Sunset Cards

Hey there and GOOD morning! I hope you have a WONDERFUL day today! I have a busy one...first thing, BOOTCAMP...then more sticks to pick up, next work...then dog training (the trainer forgot to come on Monday) and then to work again! It's gonna be a CRAZY morning!

I had a WONDERFUL class yesterday!  A couple of friends rode with me down the mountain with me and joined me for the class! I am amazed how fast the drive goes by when riding with friends...chatting and sharing stories! My friends are such a blessing to me!! I CHERISH our time together!! We made some great cards at my class and I will be sharing more of them with you soon, but today I wanted to share some cards that I created using the technique I shared on my Tuesday's Tip YouTube video day before yesterday! I hope you'll give it a try!

The stamp sets I used for this card are Pop of Paradise (the pineapple for the trunk); Fabulous Flamingo (the fronds and the water) and High Tide (the seagulls). The sentiment is from the Dare to Dream Hostess stamp set. The colors I used were Early Espresso, Garden Green, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo. The coconuts are Clear Faceted Gems.

After creating the sunset, the palm tree and water on this card, I added real sand with Heat & Stick embossing powder.  You can also use Multipurpose glue and heat it with your heat tool. I stamped the girl from Beautiful You with VersaMark and heat embossed it with Black embossing powder.  You can also use Memento Black ink.  I stamped the girl again onto Color Theory designer paper, cut it out by hand and adhered it to the stamped image on the card. The sentiment is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set!

The last card I want to share with you today is made just as the above above. I also included a sailboat that was created using the Swirly Bird stamp set!  I am so happy with all three of these cards...they are so beautiful! I truly hope they inspire you to create!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by again today! Stay safe and cool!

Tranquil Tulips and Glossy Card Stock Technique

Good morning everyone! I'm so excited it's the third Wednesday of the month because I have my monthly class down the mountain, in Redding!  I LOVE spending time with these gals...they are so encouraging and fun to be around! I've been up since 5:00am, with Kate, picking sticks, branches and logs from where we had trees removed....I think I might be a bit sore tomorrow! We have to get it done due to the fact that the guy who is going to level the ground for us said it could be two weeks or I could show up at any time....GOTTA LOVE small, mountain town living!

Before I head down I wanted to share one of the projects my class will be creating with you!

This GORGEOUS card is made with GLOSSY card stock. I used my Pacific Point and Old Olive ink pads and wiped them onto the glossy card stock...blending a few different layers. This is one of three techniques that SU shared on their blog and I shared with you back on June 10th. I finally had a chance to try it and I LOVE IT!

The base of my card is Crushed Curry with a layer of Whisper White and then the inked Glossy card stock. I used my Stitched Shapes framelits to cut the oval. The stamp set used is Tranquil Tulips, a hostess set. You can choose to use your SU rewards to order it when you are hostessing a class (of $150.00 or more) or when you place an order of $150.00 or more before tax and shipping!

It's a two-step stamping set and I stamped the base color in Daffodil Delight and the top in Crushed Curry. The stems and grass are both stamped in Wild Wasabi.  I knotted a piece of Pear Pizzazz Shimmer Ribbon around the card before attaching it to the card base and adhered my stamped image slightly over it with dimensionals. Next I doubled up some Linen Thread and tied a bow with a Corrugated Element around the knot...adding one Rhinestone to the bottom right corner.  (I had to leave the Corrugated Element off the class card because I didn't have enough to go around...I'll have to showcase them at another class!)

Here's a look at another piece of inked swiped glossy card stock.  It looks like it's been brush painted. I can't wait to play with some other colors to see how it turns out! I'm definitely gonna have to add more of this glossy paper to my next order!!!

...and here is the inside of the card! I added a few more tulips, stems and grass, leaving plenty of room to right a note! I think these flower would also make great California Poppies...even though they are tulips. I see another project in my near future!!

Well...that's all I have for you this morning! I'm gonna take off down the mountain! THANKS SO VERY MUCH for stopping by and ENJOY your day!

Tuesday's Tip....How to Create a Tropical Sunset

Hi everyone! I hope your day has gone terrifically! I've been a bit FRANTIC! I promised this video for today's "Tuesday's Tip" but have had a few glitches! First, after recording, I realized I had the camera in the wrong direction so it was black on both sides! I must remember to put it in the landscape position. Next, I was so close to being finished and my mother-in-law called. I'm filming with my phone so I had to start over....a few more takes and I had it!

So I finally had the video taped and it was time to upload it! My first video was only 30 seconds long, so it was just minutes before it was uploaded!  A seven minute video took over an hour. My first attempt had some kind of error so I had to do it again...another hour!

I have some glitches to work out...like my paper wasn't straight...but I'm pretty happy with it! It's definitely a learning curve!!! My girlfriend was in the room and gave a giggle when I was talking about Stampin' Up!'s fun color names so I had to fight back a giggle of my own! I hope you like it and will try this technique when you have a chance!

Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by today! I hope you'll leave a comment to let me know what you think. Be sure to share it with your friends! Follow me on YouTube, Facebook and/or Instagram and be sure to sign up for my weekly newsletter!

Have a FANTASTIC evening...I'll be back in the morning before I head down the mountain to teach my class!

Crate of Daisies

Good Morning! OH MY it's so nice and cool this morning! I'm up early posting...skipping spin class because I'm headed down the mountain to go grocery shopping and to the orthodontist before it gets SUPER hot! Redding gets SO HOT...and it doesn't cool off at night on those REALLY HOT days. That's something I love about our little mountain town...it almost always cools off into the high 50's low 60's. I don't sleep well when it's super hot so I open up and it's wonderful!!

Before I head down, I wanted to share a project that I worked on yesterday! I LOVE daisies...especially GERBER daisies...so today's project is a daisy project! I hope you like it!

This project was created using the Wood Crate framelits, the Daisy Punch, the Lemon Builder Punch and the Paisley Framelits, the Seasonal Layer's Thinlits, the Seaside and Softly Falling Embossing folders and the 3/4" Circle Punch.  The colors I chose are Marina Mist, Whisper White, Crushed Curry and Lemon Lime Twist.

I cut out for wood crates and attached them vertically to make the crate taller. I stamped the Marina Mist crate using the Hardwood background stamp before putting it together. I filled it with floral foam with mossy twine on top.  Next I made my daisies.  Of course I used my Daisy Punch to cut out eight daisies, but I used THICK Whisper White cardstock to make them sturdier!  I adhered one on top of the other then used my bone folder to curl them backwards. For the center of the crate flowers I used a flower from the Seasonal and a Glitter Enamel Dot.  For the magnet (in the top left corner) I used a circle cut with the 3/4" Circle Punch. It is embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. This is my favorite way to do flower centers, especially for cards because it's flat!

I attached the flowers to a pipe cleaner that is inside of a plastic tube using my glue gun (a brilliant idea from a class I use to attend). This is where I used the Paisley Framelits to make it truly look like the back of a flower. The leaves are punched with the Lemon Builder Punch and embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder.

To finish it off I tied some Burlap Ribbon into a bow around the crate. Next I tied Crushed Curry Baker's Twine around the burlap bow. I wanted to add a wooden embellishment, but remembered I hadn't ordered them yet! That's on today's list to do!

This was a really FUN project and only took about 30 minutes to complete. Now I need a card to match and it would make a sweet gift! ANOTHER PROJECT!

HEY...THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by today!  Have a FANTASTIC FRIDAY and ENJOY your weekend! Don't forget to find time to CREATE!!

Naturally Eclectic

Hello everyone! I've been out in my workshop this morning getting ready for my workshop next Wednesday. I have TWO projects ready...TWO MORE TO GO!!! I can't wait to see my ladies...it's always such a FUN day! It's a really weird day today...I have NOTHING to do...except CREATE!! I did go for a walk with my daughter, Kate...we took her horse and a friends horse with us. I had to giggle as we were walking down the road...walking our horses instead of our dogs! I'm sure it's kind of a funny sight!

I have a quick and easy card to share with you today! It's an ALL OCCASION card, meaning you can use ANY sentiment on the inside!  My card base is Whisper White with a layer of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and then a layer of Naturally Eclectic designer paper! This is FABULOUS dp...you'll LOVE it! Before attaching it to my card base, I tied Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding into a bow around it.  Last I adde a simple daisy using the Daisy punch. I cut two and layered them adding a 3/4" circle punched and embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder. CLEAN...SIMPLE...and FAST...LOVE it!!

A Little Wild and Little Loves

Hello friends! It sure has been a BUSY day! I left at 8:50am and just got home...at 3:30pm! Last night we went down the mountain to see the band America! Boy did that bring back memories of my childhood! One of my older brothers was way into music so I grew up with 70's rock! We took our two kids that are still at home and they LOVED the show! There were lots of NOSTALGIC photos up on the screens...SUPER FUN!

WHOOPS...I was side tracked by the FARMER's MARKET in town!  I had to go buy my tomatoes because it's BLT Wednesday time again!  I love it...don't have to think about what I'm gonna fix for dinner...just gotta go to the farmer's market for tomatoes...a bit of basil...some red onion and maybe a melon!  I always have bacon on hand so it's a super easy meal for me! BUT...when I got home I forgot to publish this post...SORRY...SORRY...SORRY!

I have a fun baby shower project to share with you!

I made this super cute little bag using the Little Loves framelits, the A Little Wild stamp set and my Gift Bag Punch Board. The paper is from the Coffee Break designer paper pack! Those ADORABLE leaves wrapped around my elephants head are Boxwood Wreath embellishments! I'm putting this cute bag on my list of to do videos for Tuesday's Tip! It's a SUPER cute and super easy gift bag! I used it for a game prize! My FAVORITE game was the CANDY BAR game!

Here's the card that I gave with my gift! Don't you just LOVE it!?!?! I used the same designer paper as I used for the bag...Coffee Break. I also used the Wood Textures designer paper to create the window. I simply cut it out with my Layering Squares framelits. I stamped the grass onto a smaller square of Whisper White cardstock. The grass is from the High Tide stamp set.  Again I stamped the elephant on Basic Gray cardstock using the A Little Wild stamp set and Basic Gray Ink. It stamps as a tag (front and back), then I cut it out using the Little Loves framelits. I cut it apart so I could use the back of the elephant for the inside of the card. I also gave him a Boxwood Wreath "crown"! That Copper Trim tied in the corner is VERY COOL ribbon!

...and here is the inside of the card! I LOVE how it looks like your looking out the window at the elephant...or he's looking out the window. I used the same piece of cardstock (small square) that I used for the front of the card and stamped more grass and blue sky. I wanted it to look like the wall of a barn so I embossed a piece of Early Espresso cardstock with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder.  Notice that that VERY CUTE Boxwood Wreath "crown" come through to the inside of the card.  Last, I stamped some more grass and a sentiment from the A Little Wild stamp set.

I had a bunch of fun creating this card! I was so excited to find another use for the stamp set and framelits...cards...bags and gift tags! Great variety!

Hey...thanks so much for stopping by!  I'm so sorry I forgot to hit publish when I got back from the farmer's market!  We sure enjoyed our BLT Wednesday! I'll be back in the morning with MORE creations!!! NIGHT NIGHT!!!
