Beauty of Friendship Tutorial

Hello everyone and WELCOME Friday...YAY!!  I hope you've had a terrific week and an even better weekend!  I have a few of my adult children coming up the mountain for a visit on Sunday.  Even better is we'll also be getting together on Monday, the 10th as it is the second anniversary of my son, Adam's death at just 16.  I miss him so much and wonder what he would be doing now.  It will be so nice to have everyone that can make it here, sharing a meal, sharing memories, sharing tears and sharing love....I am blessed!  

I had a few team members up for ONTOUR, which was a Stampin' Up! online event.  I had a couple of make-n-takes for them to create with new products in the catalog and I want to share one with you today!  I also used it as my submission to a monthly tutorial group I participate in!  I LOVE this new bundle, the designer paper is so pretty and I LOVE the new Tailor Made Tags Dies!!  I hope it inspires you to create!

Beauty of Friendship

·         Stamp Set – Beauty of Friendship (154983) or bundle (155834)

·         Paper – Crumb Cake Cardstock (120953); Basic White Cardstock (159276); Early Espresso Cardstock (119686); Beauty of Earth Designer Series Paper (155841)

·         Ink – Soft Suede Classic Stampin’ Pad (147115)

·         Tools – Beautiful Trees Dies (155834) or bundle (155834); Tailor Made Tags Dies (155563); Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653)

·         Misc. –Stampin’ Seal (152813); Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (144108); Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Linen Thread (104199)

 

Measurements:

·         Crumb Cake                                           8 ½” x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼”; scrap for tag

·         Basic White Cardstock                           4” x 5 ¼” (2) one for inside of card

·         Beauty of Earth DSP                              3 ¾” x 5”

·         Early Espresso                                       scrap for tree and tag reinforcement

 

Instructions:

 

1.      Fold Crumb Cake card base on score line and attach Basic White cardstock to front and inside of card with Stampin’ Seal adhesive

2.      Add Beauty of Earth dsp to Basic White layer also with Stampin’ Seal adhesive

3.      Cut tree form Early Espresso cardstock using the Beautiful Trees Dies and attach to dsp with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals

4.      Stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set.

5.      Cut tag using the Tailor Made Tags Dies. Cut hole reinforcement from Early Espresso cardstock using the same dies and attach to tag with Multipurpose Glue. 

6.      Attach tag over tree with Stampin’ Dimensionals, tying a bow through hole with two strand of Linen Thread.

"Make-It Monday" - Springtime Joy

Hello everyone!  Did you have a wonderful Easter?  We had three of our children home, beautiful weather and delicious food as we celebrated Resurrection Sunday.  I was thrilled!

It's Monday, so I have a "Make-It Monday" Tutorial for you!  It's such sweet, spring card!  I hope you'll give it a try!

·         Designer Series Paper - 6x6 Subtles (#153072)

·         Stamp Pads -  Memento Black Ink (#132708); Versamark (#102283)

·         Tools – Heat Tool (#129053)

·         Dies – Tasteful Labels (#152886); Layering circles (#151770)

·         Accessories – Basic Jewel Rhinestones (#144220)

·         Stampin’ Blends – Pool Party (#154894); Petal Pink (#154893); Seafoam (#154902); Smokey Slate (#154904); Color Lifter (#144608)

·         Misc. – Stampin’ Emboss Powder, White (#109132)

Measurements:  

·         Pool Party Cardstock                                                  8 ½” x 5 ½” (score 8.5” side at 4 ¼”)

·         Basic White Cardstock                                              3 ¾” x 5”

·         Basic White Cardstock (for circle die)                         3 ¼” x 3 ¼”

·         Pear Pizzazz Cardstock (for banner die)                    2 ½” x 1”

·         Pool Party DSP                                                               3 5/8” x 4 7/8”

·         Petal Pink DSP                                                               3 5/8” x 7/8”

              

Instructions:

1.    Fold and burnish the Pool Party Cardstock on the score line (this is your card base).

2.    Using Stampin’ Dimensionals attach the Basic White Cardstock to your card base.

3.    Attach the Pool Party DSP to the top of the Basic White Cardstock using Stampin’ Seal.

4.    With Stampin’ Seal attach the Petal Pink DSP strip on top of the Pool Party DSP at the left edge of the Basic White Cardstock.

5.    Using the 3” circle die from the Layering Circles Die and cut the 3 ¼” square of Basic White Cardstock. 

6.    Using Memento black ink, stamp the lamb, tulip and butterfly images from the Springtime Joy stamp set on the Basic White Cardstock circle.

7.    Color these images with the coordinating Stampin’ Blends.  I colored the lamb with the Basic Gray Blends and used the Color Lifter to lighten it up.

8.    Attach this in the center of the card to the left side using Stampin’ Seal.

9.    Cut the Pear Pizzazz Cardstock piece with the banner die from the Tasteful Labels Dies.

10. Stamp the words from the Springtime Joy stamp set, using Versamark ink, onto the Pear Pizzazz banner.  Sprinkle it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

11. Attach the banner to the card front at the bottom right edge of the circle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

12. Sprinkle some Basic Jewel Rhinestones on.

Snail Mail Tutorial

Hello there!!  I hope life is treating you well!  I am so thankful for days that go smoothly and for sunshiny days! It's been beautiful here and I'm totally enjoying it!  I hosted a four day retreat this past weekend (hence my MIA) AND ran the snack bar at our first baseball game last Friday.  The retreat was wonderful...lots of laughing, cooking, eating and creating!  The snack bar was terrific too.  I only stayed for one game (as I had my retreat ladies to visit with) but a couple of moms ran it for me for the second game!  All the proceeds go to my son, Adam's Memorial Scholarship Fund.  I'm so happy that the high school teams are playing and that they allow me to still be a part of things...I am VERY BLESSED!

The Snail Mail bungle is retiring with the current catalog and I am so sad!  I think it's such a cute set (and I'm normally not a huge CUTE fan)!  Here's a fun card and tutorial for you to try!

Snail Mail

Supplies:

·         Stamp Sets – Snail Mail Bundle (156255)

·         Cardstock – Bermuda Bay (131197), Basic White (159276), Real Red (102482)

·         Stamp Pads – Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (132708)

·         Miscellaneous. –  Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Real Red (154899) and Balmy Blue (154830) Stampin’ Blends Combo Packs, Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal (152813), Snail Mail Designer Series Paper (DSP) (154577), Mini Glue Dots (103683), Stampin’ Seal Plus (143699), Wink of Stella (141897)

 

Measurements:

·         Bermuda Bay:  8 ½” x 5 ½” scored at 4 ¼” – card base

·         Real Red:  3 ¼” x 3 ¼” plus scrap for tiny envelope

·         Snail Mail DSP:  3” x 3” plus scrap for tiny ‘letter’, 5 ¼” x 1” for inside decorative strip

·         Basic White: 5 ¼” x 4” plus scrap for snail

 

Instructions:

1.    Create Bermuda Bay card base.

2.    Stamp cute snail on Basic White with Memento stamp pad and color with Blends. Die cut. Paint the shell with Wink of Stella.

3.    Die cut small envelope in Real Red, fold and adhere envelope sides together with Mini Glue Dot.

4.    Die cut tiny letter, stamp with small heart and insert into envelope.

5.    Adhere 1” DSP to 4’ x 5 ¼” Basic White, stamp “You snailed it!” and add to inside of the card.

6.    Cut off 2” from the front panel of the card.  Adhere DSP to Real Red and adhere to the front panel allowing approximately ½” over the edge.

7.    Add snail with Dimensionals.  Add small envelope to the left of the snail with Stampin’ Seal plus

8.    Stamp envelope with ‘HAPPY MAIL enclosed’ stamp.

9.    Send to a friend …….

Flowering Vine

Hello there and HAPPY Monday!  I hope you had a lovely weekend!  I'd love to hear what you did in the comments below!  It's fun to live vicariously through others!  I had an uneventful weekend.  It was very relaxing and quiet!  I did have some time to create and here's one of the cards I made!

A team page I belong to had a Sketch Challenge that I participated in!

Here's the card I made using the Flowering Vine Dies!  These dies are so beautiful!  This was my first time using the, but I can assure you it will not be the last!  I also used the True Love designer series paper for the background.  The colors are Basic Black and Bumblebee.  I love how the Bumblebee cardstock pops on the Basic Black layer!  I colored the centers of the daisies with my Dark Daffodil Stampin' Blend. Last, I added several Playing With Patterns Resin Dots to the cut image.

Here's the sketch that the team was challenged with!  It's a really great sketch!  I hope you'll give it a try!
