Poppies...Poppies...Poppies!!!

Hello everyone!  Happy Friday!  How's your day going!  I know some of my friends out there woke up to lots of snow!  It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in Weaverville and I am so grateful!

Yesterday, I had to drive down the mountain to get my daughters phone fixed (she needed a new screen).  I think it's pretty essential for her to have her phone right now to keep in touch with her friends during our shelter in place.  It was such a lovely drive!  It's my favorite time of year to make the drive.  The greens are so vibrant and the California Poppies are blooming everywhere!  We had a wonderful time together...shared a little love with some friends (from a distance, of course) and got her phone fixed! It was a delightful day!!

Here's a few pics of our excursion!  I sure do LOVE this girl!!

Today...I want to share some BEAUTIFUL poppy cards with you! I'll be posting more over the weekend!  I've heard...but not seen it in writing that the Peaceful Poppy Suite may be coming available again soon!  YAY!!!

·         Cardstock #6: Whisper White 5 ¼” x 4”
·         Designer Paper #1: 2 ½” x 3 ¾”
·         Designer Paper #2: 4 ¾” x 1 ¼”

Instructions:
·         For card base, CS #1, score at 5 ½” on the 8 ½:” side.  Folder over and crease with bone folder for crisp fold.
·         For card band, CS #2, score at ½” on the 5 ½” (landscape) end-fold over and crease with bone folder.
·         Layer the Copper foil sheet, #1, onto the small section of the card that you folded over in step one.
·         Layer the DSP #1 on top of the copper piece
·         Center both on the folded small portion on the left side of the card.
·         Punch out opening for band with classic label punch.  Put punch all the way in from the outside of the folded part, making sure it is centered. (It will be hard to punch through all the three layers of cardstock and other papers, so make sure you have it where you can use some pressure).
·         Glue DSP #2 onto the Cardstock band -cardstock #2.
·         Center band with the ½” folded end to the base of the largest section of cardstock on the outside edge and adhere with glue or tear and tape.
·         Band should fit into previously punched out area to close card.
·         Adhere whisper white inside of card piece with wet glue to inside of card.
·         Stamp image of poppy on inside of card and color with blends.
·         Close Band and stamp sentiments onto the top and bottom portion above the band on the inside of card that is showing above and below bands.
·         Cut out poppies and outline of poppies with the dies and glue together.
·         Cut out black centers of the poppies. Use Wink of Stella for some sparkle.
·         Cut out banner decorative piece from copper foil and glue onto center of  DSP of the band.
·         Cut out leaves with copper foil and scraps of old olive and gardent green cardstock and layer.
·         I used a distresser block to lightly distress the copper leaves and decorative piece for the band.  Be careful to do it lightly.
·         Cut out the circle from the poppy parade and glue or use dimensionals to adhere the poppies and leaves onto it. You may have to trim off some of the leaves to make them fit nicely.
·         Use dimensionals to adhere the left side of the circle to the left side of the punched out label only, leaving room for the band to go through.
·         Adhere gems onto inside of card by sentiments
