Garden Impressions

Good morning everyone!  Were you able to hop along with the Inspire, Create & Share Blog Hop last night?  I had to look at everything very quickly as I had a 6:30pm class.  Now, I'm off to Costco, so it will have to wait til later today!  I do hope you enjoyed it!  If you didn't get to you can go to yesterdays blog post to get started!

Last night was my first May class so I'd like to share one of the cards we made!

My card base is Very Vanilla and measures 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4". Next I added a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Crushed Curry cardstock as my first layer.  I added a 3" X 3 3/4" piece of Garden Impressions designer paper (going away in June) and a 2" X 3" piece of Soft Sea Foam cardstock that is embossed with the Petal Burst embossing folder (which sadly is retiring).  I used the Dot to Dot embossing folder (also retiring) to emboss a 1" x 4" Night of Navy strip.  Before attaching it to my card, I tied Whisper White Bakers twine around it (2 pieces) and tied a double bow.  After attaching the strip, I tied Linen Thread around the bow attaching a Corrugated Element.  The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink with the Treat Time stamp set and cut with the Petite Treats Framelits (a bundle that is also retiring this month). This DSP is so pretty and such a great deal...just $11.00 for 48 6" X 6" pieces.

Floral Romance

Hello everyone! Are you ready for your day?  It's almost 10:30am and I'm just getting started and I feel like I need a nap already!  I hope you enjoyed last nights Blog Hop!

I'm back today and want to share a card we're making at my April classes!  I had a class last night and this was a big hit! I hope you like it too!!

The card base is Whisper White and the first layer is Gray Granite! The designer paper is from the Floral Romance pack and is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I attached it to the cardstock using snail adhesive lightly in the corners!  Next I embossed a 1 1/2" X 4" piece of Fresh Fig cardstock with the Petal Burst embossing folder and adhered it to the vellum with dimensionals.  I used the Everyday Label Punch to cut the background for my sentiment from Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The sentiment is from the His Grace stamp set and is stamped in Gray Granite ink and punched with the 1 1/2" Circle Punch.  I used the Leaf Punch with Pear Pizzazz cardstock and one of the Bitty Blooms punches with Petal Pink cardstock for the flowers.  I finished the card by adding some Old Olive Linen Thread and Pearl Basic Jewels to the centers of the flowers!  Isn't it a BEAUTIFUL card!  I LOVE how it turned out and it can be used for so many different occasions simply by changing the sentiment!

If you need any of these supplies click on SHOP NOW to go to my store!

FUN FOLD with Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper

Good morning everyone! WOW!! What a COLD 26 degrees it was this morning! I'm so glad I have a nicely heated home! Currently I have a portable floor heater in my workshop (which is working great), but I am having a mini-split put in soon so I will also have air conditioning on HOT days!

I'm really exicited to share a FUN FOLD card with you today! I received one at OnStage so I gently took it apart for measurements and created my own!

Here is my inspiration! I REALLY LOVE the fold! In fact, I'm thinking of adding a FUN FOLDS class...maybe quarterly to my classes! I'd LOVE to hear what your thoughts are on that!

Here is my take on it! I used Pool Party cardstock for the base of my card.  It measures 4 1/4" X 11" and is scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2". I embossed the top half using the Petal Burst embossing folder.  Next I cut a 3" X 9" piece of Basic Black cardstock and scored it at 3" and 6'. I adhered a piece of 2 7/8" X 2 7/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock into each square. Next I added a 2 3/4" X 2 3/4" Whole Lot of Lovely designer series paper to each Whisper White square.

Here's the card folded down so it will fit into an envelope. I used the Pansy punch for the Peek-a-boo Peach flower and the Leaf punch for the Old Olive leaves. The button is a SNEAK PEEK of what's in the NEW Occasion's Catalog!

You can use ANY sentiment..but I chose Happy Birthday which is stamped in Memento Black ink and then stamped over in Pool Party ink with the bacground stamp in the Best Birds stamp set.  Isn't it a FANTASTIC card?!?!

...another really cool thing about this card is you can open it the other direction by simply rotating  your sentiment!!

This might be a bit confusing so I think I'll make a "HOW TO" video! Be on the look out for it!

That's it for today! I hope you are INSPIRED!  Thanks so much for faithfully stopping by every day! ENJOY the rest of your day....and find time to CREATE!
