Good Morning peeps! Well...I completely forgot to blog yesterday! I had a storm hanging over me ALL day! There were SEVERE WEATHER WARNINGS so I left early for my monthly class down the mountain. The storm didn't develop so I went to lunch with a couple of girlfriends after class...still no storm. I picked up pizzas (for youth group) and stable mix (for my daughter's horse) and headed back up the mountain. When we got to the top of Buckhorn Pass, it was trying to spit out a little snow! When I got home kids were just getting home and it was snowing a bit more. I quickly got dinner (meatloaf) in the oven so I could get my class orders in before the power went out! This was the kind of storm that was expected to hit! Well...the storm never arrived...the power never went out...we didn't get a foot of snow...there was no snow day this morning (to my sons disappointment) but I FORGOT TO BLOG!
Here I am today...we're still expecting a storm, I slept through my alarm and missed the gym, I poured ice tea on my Honey Not Cheerios...BUT I remembered to blog! Here is one of the fun projects we made at my class yesterday! My upline, Sarah Wills, made a similar one for me! I love it and hope you do too!
I used the Flying Home stamp set to stamp the top half of a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock. I colored my image using my Stampin' Blend markers. Next I matted my image onto a piece of 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Crushed Curry cardstock. Before I attached it to the easel, I added a piece of Bermuda Bay 3/8" Mini Chevron ribbon, tying it in a knot and attaching the self-adhered calendar.
I found the calendar at Vippies.com and just got an email saying that they are on sale and that 2019 calendars would be coming soon...now I can be ahead of things!
The easel is Bermuda Bay cardstock, measures 4 1/4" X 11" and is scored at 5 1/2". To turn the card into an easel, I used a 4" X 4" piece of cardstock that I scored at 1/2", 2" and 3 1/2" and adhered it to the inside of the card (easel) base. I'm hoping you can see how it's folded in this photo!
It's a REALLY FUN project and now that I know where to find the calendars, I think it will become a December project instead of a February (almost March) project. I think it would be a super cute announcement card...you could circle the date of a birthday, a graduation, a wedding, a vacation, retirement, an anniversary...you get the drift I'm sure! I have some extra calendars, so I think I'll play with it!
