Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Paper

Hi friends! It's with a heavy heart that I blog today! I went for a walk Wednesday morning...it was BEAUTIFUL...I walked for two hours thinking I would blog when I got home, but wanting to enjoy the cool morning. I arrived home and my neighbor needed some help and then I had to go into a training class at work...still no blogging time. Late that afternoon a fire broke out about 15 miles from my beautiful mountain town.  It moved quickly...it moved hot...several homes have been lost and it isn't over yet.  There is 0% containment with low visibility so air attacks have not been possible.  Now the smoke is lifting, which is good for visibility, but it also allows the winds to kick up which will spread the fire.  My husband is out working...assessing power line damage, making sure things are ready for when they are able to get the power back on. At this time we are safe. I believe in the power of prayer so if you are a prayer...please pray for my little mountain community, my friends who have lost everything, for the firefighters, for law enforcement, for those out there trying to get things back to normal for folks!

I just had to get out in my workshop to create...it's my therapy and keeps me calm! So I have a couple of cards to share with you today! I wanted to demonstrate that choosing to focus on colors in designer paper is a fun way to create a different look in your cards!

This card is created with the Whole Lot of Lovely designer paper. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!
The color I chose to focus on is Peek-a-boo Peach. I used the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder to emboss the base as well as cut the flower using the Support Ribbon framelits.  The leaves are from the NEW Stampin' UP! Holiday Catalog (WHICH IS LIVE TODAY!!!). It's called the Leaf Punch! I also used  Touches of Nature as well as Clear Faceted Gems embellishments. The sentiment is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set!

My second card uses the Pool Party as its focus color! I used the same designer paper, the same embossing folder, the same framelits, the same stamp set. Again, I used the Touches of Nature wood embellishments and Clear Faceted Gems. Changing the focus color give you a TOTALLY different look!  I LOVE designer paper for this reason...it's a GREAT place to start!

I given my ladies their Holiday Catalogs already, and mailed some out, but if anymore of you need one, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Thank you for your prayers!  Have a FANTASTIC three day weekend! Lord willing...I'll be blogging again on Monday!!!
