Red, White and Blue

Good morning everyone!  I hope you have a Wonderful Wednesday and find time to create among all the other things life has planned for you today! Things are happening quickly at my house...just when we get a new kitchen, we are down to two kiddos!  My son, Erik, just got a job in Arizona.  My husband has been gone all week helping him move, finding an apartment and getting him established.  He started with APS on Monday and LOVED it!  It's such an EXCITING time, but was a really difficult time too.  I will miss him so much but I can't wait to see what's ahead!

At my workshops last month we made a patriotic card to celebrate Memorial Day.  It's a great card that you can, of course, use for the 4th of July as well. I have a couple of soldiers that I want to send some cookies to and I plan to enclose this card as well.

I created this card with the Sheltering Trees (yep...that's the stripes) and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (for the star area).  I used the Hardwood background stamp for the star by stamping it on Real Red cardstock and used the stars framelits to cut the small star. The colors I used are Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White and Crumb Cake.

For the inside of the card I layered Real Red cardstock on to the Crumb Cake card base and added another layer of Whisper White on top.  Before adhering the white I stamped the corner in Night of Navy and cut the small star using the Star framelits.

I just love how it turned out! I've been wanting to make a flag since I bought the Sheltering Tree set.  It's funny how your mind lets you see things out of the box once in a while!

I also want to share the Weekly Deals with you....they are GREAT

Thanks again...
so very much for stopping by today!

I leave you with this thought...

"A bend in the road is not the end of the road...
unless you fail to make the turn. "
