20 Cards in a Tin - Day ONE - Vertical Greetings

Good Morning friends! I'm hoping LIFE is treating you well this Wednesday morning! I woke up to beautiful blue skies, snow capped mountains covered with gorgeous greenery. I always love this time of year....the new growth on the Oak trees is such a contrast from the Evergreens. It gives me a renewed feeling of hope and excitement as I look to what lies ahead. It's INSPIRING to me!

If you've been following my blog you know that last Saturday, May 6th I had a 20 Cards in a Tin class with nine ladies joining in the fun! We created TWENTY different cards and we had a BLAST!!  Today I'd like to start sharing those cards with you. I hope that you have FUN following along and are INSPIRED to CREATE!!

Yesterday I shared a card that I made for a friend to give to a friend using the Vertical Greetings stamp set, so I decided that would be a good place to start today....with the Vertical Greetings card we made in the class. I LOVE this stamp set...why have I not used it before today?

The colors I used are Whisper White, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise, they go FABULOUSLY together! Of course I added a little bling using Basic Rhinestones. SUPER SIMPLE card to make...I just used the brush end of my Stampin' Write Markers to color the stamp...the breathed on the stamp (it was fun seeing the ladies huffing on the stamp) and stamped the image. It's a GREAT card and comes together so quickly!

Well...I sure hope you will come back and join me for 19 more cards! I LOVE sharing what I LOVE doing with all of you! Blessings to you all today and everyday...and I hope you find time to CREATE!!

Vertical Greetings

Good Morning! (Well...it's actually 10:07pm last night)...we just finished our home group study in Revelations...awesome study and now I'm posting because I'm headed to work early tomorrow morning! I hope you have a wonderful day...enjoy EVERY minute of it!

I want to share a card that I made last week...for a friend...to give to a friend...does that make sense?

I created this card using the Vertical Greetings stamp set.  I had not used this set yet, but I really like it! In fact, I decided to use it in my 20 cards and a Tin class last Saturday too! I also used the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set (which is retired) for the brick wall.  I'm gonna try using the brick wall embossing folder and see how that turns out. I needed to get this one done pretty quickly so I stamped it! Love that clean and simple style! The colors I chose are Whisper White, Old Olive, Smoky Slate and Cajun Craze. I'll definitely be making more cards with the set, be prepared!!!

So that's it for today! Thanks BUNCHES for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with more creations!

"Make-It Monday" Builder Birdcage

Good Morning! How was your weekend? I hope ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! Mine was great!  I had my 20 Cards and a Tin card class on Saturday and it was a BLAST! The gals LOVED it and want to do it again...I had a ball and of course will do it again! I'll be sharing the cards we made with you over the next couple of weeks!

Today I have a BEAUTIFUL "Make-It Monday" to share with you! BE INSPIRED!

"Make-It Monday": Builder Birdcage card created with Stampin' Up! products
All images © 1990-2017 Stampin’ Up!®

Image & page number of the full stamp set shown below the project instructions.

Supplies:
  • Stamp Set: Builder Birdcage (142891) and Falling Flowers (139556)
  • Cardstock and Paper: Pear Pizzazz (131201), Shimmery White (101910), Pop of Pink Specialty Designer Series Paper (141648)
  • Stampin’ Pad: Basic Black Archival (140931), Melon Mambo (126948) and Pear Pizzazz (131180)
  • Miscellaneous: Melon Mambo Thick Baker’s Twine (141689), Pearl Basic Jewels (119247), SNAIL Adhesive (104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), and Paper Snips (103579)

Measurements:
  • Pear Pizzazz: 4-1/4” x 11”, scored at 5-1/2 then folded plus a scrap about 3” x ¾”
  • Shimmery White: 2” x 5-1/2”
  • Pop of Pink DSP: 5-1/2’ x ¾”
  • Twine: about 18”

Instructions:
  1. Choose three images to build your birdcage and stamp each piece very closely to one another using Basic Black ink on Shimmery White card stock. Images should be touching one another to create a consistent birdcage. Position so that it is not centered but slightly more towards the bottom so your twine, later, will not cover up too much of the birdcage at the top.
  2. Using Melon Mambo ink, put both birds on one block so they are facing one another and touching. Once stamped, they will be a little bit apart and will fit in the birdcage well.
  3. Using SNAIL, adhere the Pop of Pink DSP strip to the back of the birdcage piece so that the DSP peeks out about 3/8”.
  4. Stamp large flourish image in Pear Pizzazz ink on the Pear Pizzazz card base so that the image is about ¼” from the right edge and centered between the top and bottom.
  5. Stamp sentiment on Pear Pizzazz scrap and create banner ends using Paper Snips so that finished piece is about ¾” x 2-1/2” at the longest
  6. Adhere birdcage and DSP piece to Pear Pizzazz card front using SNAIL so that birdcage piece is ¼” from left edge.
  7. Tie Melon Mambo twine around top of card, create bow and trim with Paper Snips
  8. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere sentiment so it comes straight out from birdcage stand without covering it.
  9. Sprinkle pearls (or sequins or any other coordinating embellishment) on card base.
