"Make-It Monday" - Beauty Abounds

Good Morning and HAPPY Monday! The days are all a blur to me. The kids are off of school for the week and my husband is working everyday...I had to look at the calendar to see what day it is today!  YIKES!!! 

Well, it's MONDAY and that means it's time for a "Make-It Monday" project! Its definitely a BEAUTIFUL one!

Stamp the swirl image from the Beauty Abounds Stamp Set in Balmy Blue on the right side of the Whisper White. Emboss the Whisper White piece with the Subtle Embossing Folder using the Big Shot. Glue the Whisper White to the Basic Black layer and glue both to the Highland Heather card base. Banner cut the left edge of Gingham Gala strip and glue to the lower right side of the Whisper White. Stamp the sentiment in Versmark on the Balmy Blue strip, add White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and Heat set. Banner cut the left side of the strip. Glue on top of the Gingham Gala strip. Punch out a butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP using the Butterfly Duet Punch. Pop up the butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals on the swirl above the sentiment. Botanical Butterfly Calendar Easel

Hello there crafty friends! I'm hoping you're having a FANTASTIC day! Mine has been a bit crazy! I went to spin class this morning, registered for my Greece trip with Stampin' Up!, then to a meeting at church and next to a beginning Zumba class!  Ok...STOP LAUGHING...yes ZUMBA!  Those of you who know me well...know how INCREDIBLY UNCOORDINATED I am at dance moves! I can play sports...but I can't dance!!!  It's so CONFUSING!!!

Well...I'm home now...and blogging!  It's nice to sit down for a minute...my legs are a little bit shaky!

Here's another project from my January classes!  The Basic Black base is 4 1/4" X 11" and scored at 5 1/2". The Whisper White mat is 4" X 5 1/4" and the Botanical Butterfly Designer Paper (which is a FREE SAB item) is 3 3/4" x 5".  I used a scrap piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 3/4" X 3 1/2" to stamp the sentiment which is from the Home to Roost stamp set (also a FREE SAB item)! The butterflies are stamped with the Butterfly Gala stamp set in Memento Black ink onto Crushed Curry cardstock and punched out with the Butterfly Duet punch.  I added Rhinestones for a bit of bling and the calendar is from Vippies.com 

Oh...I forgot one important step.  This is not a card...it's an easel.  To make it an easel you'll need a 3" X 4" piece of Basic Black cardstock scored at 1/2", 1 1/2" and 2 1/2". Fold it like a tent with two flaps on each side to stick to the card base....this will make it stand up nicely!  I love these little calendars and I LOVE this designer paper!

Tuesday's Tip - Butterfly Gala....FUN coloring techniques!

Hello everyone!  I have a FUN video to share today!  ENJOY and give it a try!



Here are samples of of each technique!

Glossy White Cardstock colored with Night of Navy (light & dark), Old Olive (light) and Daffodil Delight (dark) Stampin' Blend Markers. Looking at it now, it needs to be blended better so I'm gonna take my Stampin' Blend Color Lifter and even it out a bit! I'll use it on a card to share in the future!

Shimmery White Cardstock colored with Pacific Point, Old Olive & Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter.

Whisper White Thick Cardstock colored with Blueberry Bushel & Lemon Lime Twist ink pads and daubers.

Watercolor Paper colored with Blueberry Bushel & Lemon Lime Twist Stampin' Write Markers. Color onto an acrylic block, spritz watercolor paper with Rubbing Alcohol (or water) and stamp with block.
