Good Morning everyone! Today's a great day! I don't have anything to do until tonight so I get to create (clean my workshop & do laundry) all day until my kiddos come home! I'm EXCITED to get out there and get started! Tonight, I'm going to an Origami Owl Jewelry party tonight. A friend from church is starting her business and I can't wait to support her!
Today I wanted to share a card I made a few weeks ago with you! Try NOT to freak out....it is a Christmas card! I just had to make it! I was INSPIRED by a St. Patrick's Day project!
A friend of mine, Sherri Everett, cased this project form Erica McCarty Cerwin!
Isn't that Leprechaun ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!
It was St. Patrick's Day when I saw this. I didn't have time to re-create it, but it did get my mind spinning!!
Naturally, my mind went to the next holiday...Easter. Uhhhhh...NO, it went to Christmas! I saw Santa Claus....and then I saw Mrs. Claus.
Here's what it inspired me to create!
My card base is a 5 1/2" X 8 1/2" piece of Real Read cardstock scored at 4 1/4". Next I embossed a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock with the Swirls and Curls embossing folder. Here's how I made my Santa. For his hat, I stamped the cupcake frosting, from the Hello Cupcakes stamp set onto Real Red cardstock using Real Red ink and cut it out with the matching framelits. Sadly, the framelits are no longer available, but the stamp set is FREE during Sale-A-Bration which ends 3/31. You can hand cut it out by hand or if you have a Scan-n-Cut that would work too! His face is cut with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch from Powder Pink cardstock. It's the same for Mrs. Clause. Santa's Beard is just like Mrs. Claus's hair and is stamped with the frosting stamp in VersaMark ink and embossed with a mixture of White Embossing Powder and Dazzling Diamonds Glitter using my heat tool. I LOVE how it turned out! The eyes and noses are cut with the 1/2" circle punch and another retired circle punch that is just a bit smaller. Mrs. Claus's mouth is the heart from the Dog Builder punch. I tied a piece of 1/8" Solid Real Red Ribbon around Mrs. Claus's hair and added a pompom made with Whisper White Baker's Twine to Santa's hat. The Christmas sentiment is from Christmas Pines stamp set and the designer paper is from the Under the Mistletoe paper pack. I tied some Old Olive and Linen Thread around the end of the sentiment. Last, I added a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels to finish it off. I LOVE IT...it's so CUTE!!
Well...thanks BUNCHES for stopping by! Have a FABULOUS day! Enjoy ANY creating time that you have...just have FUN!!
