Good Morning friends! I hope you had a WONDERFUL weekend! I'm sorry I missed yesterday...I was getting ready for my workshop last night! My plan was to get ready on Saturday after getting our tree, but we had such a great time hunting for the perfect tree, playing in the snow, drinking hot chocolate...I just didn't want it to end so we watched The Grinch as a family and a couple of other movies...it was WONDERFUL family time! I was glad I already had a plan...I just had to do the cutting yesterday!
Today I have a FABULOUS project to share with you! You all know that I love to make Burlap Twine out of my Burlap Ribbon by taking it apart. I had bunches of the left over pieces so I decided to make a Christmas tree out of it...I had to dye it green first though...so I put it in a bowl of water with 50-60 drops of green ink (I used Garden Green) and let it soak over night. The next morning I laid the scraps on a piece of cardboard to dry. It drie really quickly and within a a couple of hours I was able to put it together!

I just love it! My daughter, Kate, came in after school yesterday and just went crazy....mom...I LOVE IT! It was so simple! Once I dyed the ribbon remnants I just glued it around a cone shaped styrofoam base and fluffed it up! I added a Glimmer paper star that I cut with my star framelits and tied a bow from Real Red 1/4" cotton ribbon.
Kate loved it plain, but I had to try one decorated up a bit so I wrapped some of the Real Red Pompom trim around it! It's so FESTIVE! So don't throw away your scraps!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I know that it is such a busy time of year...it makes me happy to know that you take the time to see what I'm up to!
Here we are getting our tree...in the snow! It was a beautiful day!! It sure was weird with only two kids at home...but oh so much FUN!
