Thoughtful Branches - Day Two

Hello and Happy Friday! I know you're all ready for the weekend! Well...the girls have all gone home and I'm headed down the mountain to grocery shop! Fun was had by all...they decorated some cute flip flops!

I have a quick card to share with you...another Thoughtful Branches card from my upline Sarah Wills at Sarah's Ink Spot.

This is such a simple card...you can use it for Halloween (obviously) but by changing the sentiment it would be great for fall, thank you, thinking of you...the skies the limit!

This bundle is SO VERSATILE...you are gonna LOVE it!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a TERRIFIC DAY!!!

Thoughtful Branches - Day One

Good Afternoon friends!  Gosh...another day has gotten away from me! Today is the FLIP FLOP PARTY so I've been busy pulling it all together! Before I got started I went for a bike ride (about 20 miles) with a girlfriend and in between I had to go into the office to do payroll! Five of the girls have arrived and are downstairs playing TABOO...a couple more are due anytime now and will be off to do our FLIP FLOP CRAFTS!

I totally had something else to share with you, but my up-line, Sarah Wills at Sarah's Ink Spot, sent me some cards that she created with the Thoughtful Branches Bundle to share at my workshops. She made a card for a variety of seasons and over the next week, I'd like to share them with you! You're gonna LOVE each one of them!

We start school on August 16th, so I chose this card to share first. Isn't it cute! I thought I would change the sentiment to HELLO...(or GOOD LUCK), add a gift card to our local coffee shop or Starbucks and give it to my daughter's teachers to start the year of caffeinated!

I have not yet played with this set, but I know I'm gonna LOVE it! I have so many ideas swimming around in my brain...it kind of makes me crazy sometimes!  I plan to get out to my workshop this weekend to see what comes about!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great night!

Wednesday and Wine

Hi guys! Hope you are having a FANTASTIC day! I...OF COURSE...am running behind! Today was HIGH SCHOOL ORIENTATION for my son...I can't believe it! Time sure does fly...ESPECIALLY when they start high school! He got his locker, his books, his schedule...and paper work to fill out! I'm also having a FLIP FLOP party to celebrate my youngest starting Junior High School. The big, exciting thing when entering Junior High is that you can chew gum and WEAR FLIP FLOPS. So....I've been busy doing some last minute shopping for that! Last...I have a workshop tonight and my workshop was a DISASTER!!!!! I have it all cleaned up and ready to go now and I even got caught up on a few projects...now I'm ready to relax...wish I had a glass of wine! All this to tell you...I've got nothin' for you today...EXCEPT...

27 Years....Anniversary Card

Hello and how ya doin'? Today is a big day for Stampin' Up and for me!  It's PRE-ORDER time for the Holiday Catalog!  It is AMAZING...you are gonna LOVE it! It's also the day that the Thoughtful Branches bundle is available!  I was up til 11:30 getting my orders in...now for the WAITING (for it to arrive)!

If you've been following my blog, you know that my anniversary was last Friday and we went away for the weekend.  We drove to Woodland to take my two youngest kiddos to their older brothers house (they had FUN in Monterey and Santa Cruz).  We had dinner with them at the Elkhorn Saloon...DELICIOUS... then we drove to Vallejo...we stayed the night in a Super 8 (my poor husband...I really gave him a bad time about that), it was actually very nice. Saturday morning we had a delicious breakfast at the Good Day Restaurant and walked through their AMAZING farmers market! Then we took the ferry from Vallejo into San Francisco and watched the Giants beat the Nationals...oh and did I tell you Hunter Pence started back that same day too.  He's my favorite player! We returned that evening to Vallejo where we had INCREDIBLE calzones at Napoli's. We stayed another night and took our time getting make to life and home on Sunday! It was a TERRIFIC weekend!

Anyway's...today I wanted to share the anniversary card I made for my husband!  He is a Power Lineman by trade and a bicycling enthusiast....

For the front of my card I used the Happy Heart embossing folder to create my background on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  I used the back of the embossed cardstock because I could adhere the heart I cut using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits much easier.  I found this groovy bicycle wheel heart on Pinterest and printed it on Whisper White cardstock, mounted it on another piece of Whisper White cardstock and then a piece of Basic Black cardstock. The sentiment is from the Baby Bear stamp set.  I tied a piece of Linen Thread around the corner and used dimensionals to attach it to the card.  The base of the card is Smokey Slate with a mat of Basic Black which I attached the embossed cardstock to. I used Wink of Stella and bling around the heart...just for a bit of FUN!

For the inside of the card I added another heart from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and a sentiment that I found on Pinterest! He absolutely LOVED the card!  I had plenty of room to tell him how much I love him at the bottom...and the other side!

Well...we had a FANTASTIC weekend....but I was sure tuckered out yesterday...I didn't do a thing...except CLEAN MY HOUSE, because we had home group last night!  Hoping to get some creating done today...time will tell!

Thanks bunches for stopping by!  Have a WONDERFUL rest of your day!

Flashback Friday...Watermelons

Good morning and HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm headed out on my anniversary trip...first stop Woodland so our two youngest kids can hang out with their oldest brother! Next...onto Healdsburg for dinner...then to our hotel! FUN...FUN...FUN!!

I wanted to start having a Flashback Friday to share some of my FAVORITE older cards...I go back to them from time to time to find INSPIRATION! Today I want to share a few from my Watermelon Week back in 2014. I had a BLAST doing WEEKLY THEMED INSPIRATIONS and hope to bring some new and fresh theme ideas in the near future!

I love watermelon and have such fond memories of sitting outside on grandma's porch or front yard eating a entire circle of watermelon...spitting the seeds out...getting sticky from the juice! I hope this brings wonderful memories to you as well as FUN inspiration!

Thanks bunches for stopping by today...I know you have lots to do...our lives are so full and busy!  Have a FANTASTIC weekend! I'll be back on Monday!

More Kudo Cards with Jars of Love and Work of Art Stamp Sets

Hey there friends!  Well it's evening again before I am getting to post! Another BUSY day of kids, company and cooking!  We're leaving tomorrow to celebrate our 27th anniversary...and I am so excited! One of the things we are going to do is go to a San Francisco Giants game on Saturday.  I'm so excited...Hunter Pence MIGHT be back for this game...HOPING...HOPING...HOPING!!!

Other news...and you're gonna LOVE this...I viewed a preview of the NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG today and it is AMAZING!

I have a couple new KUDO cards to share with you!  I LOVE that my uplines send me cards to congratulate and encourage me!! I feel appreciated and I get more ideas!!!

This card came today and I just LOVE it! It's very simple...no bling or anything (so no extra postage) and so CUTE too!

This card is created using the new 2016-2018 In-Colors...Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy and Flirty Flamingo as well as Tip Top Taupe from the 2015-2017 In-Colors. She also used the Everyday Jar Framelits along with the Jars of Love stamp set.

I love how she rounded just the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder.

This card is made using the Work of Art stamp set and the Butterflies Framelits!

I LOVE how the Basic Pearls are attached so randomly!  Another simple to card to add to your collection! Give it a try!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend coming up...it IS the weekend for me now already! Stay SAFE and find time to CREATE!!!

Swirly Bird and Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! I'm really late posting today...it's been crazy! Started with spin class at 6:30am...then a bike ride with a friend before it got to HOT...had to get my son to a birthday party (but first had to get a tire tube to float the river and a gift), then home to water, watch a movie with my daughter, shopping, farmers market for BLT Wednesdays and VBS!  I'm just now sitting down to blog!

I made this card last night to participate in The Paper Players Sketch Challenge! I haven't participated in a challenge for a long time...so I had a lot of FUN!

My card base is Crumb Cake with the first mat cut from Island Indigo cardstock. The designer paper is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Paper Series (it's BEAUTIFUL paper)! I took a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, ran it through the Woodgrain embossing folder and matted it onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. The bird's nest is cut using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits from Soft Suede cardstock.  The bird is cut using the Birds and Blooms Thinlits from So Saffron cardstock. I added a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and a sentiment stamped on Whisper White cardstock from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I colored a Basic Pearl black using a Project Life Journaling pen....you could also use a black sharpie (I didn't have one handy) for the birds eye!

Doesn't this thinlit make a great birds nest?!?

Next time I'm gonna add some Linen Thread or separated Burlap Ribbon to make it look like pieces a momma bird would have brought back to her nest!

Below is the inside of the card...very simple with room to write a special note!

Here is the sketch that I followed!  You can add your creation by clicking here - The Paper Players!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow to share some more FUN ideas!
