Swirly Bird and Paper Players Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! I'm really late posting today...it's been crazy! Started with spin class at 6:30am...then a bike ride with a friend before it got to HOT...had to get my son to a birthday party (but first had to get a tire tube to float the river and a gift), then home to water, watch a movie with my daughter, shopping, farmers market for BLT Wednesdays and VBS!  I'm just now sitting down to blog!

I made this card last night to participate in The Paper Players Sketch Challenge! I haven't participated in a challenge for a long time...so I had a lot of FUN!

My card base is Crumb Cake with the first mat cut from Island Indigo cardstock. The designer paper is from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Paper Series (it's BEAUTIFUL paper)! I took a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, ran it through the Woodgrain embossing folder and matted it onto a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. The bird's nest is cut using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits from Soft Suede cardstock.  The bird is cut using the Birds and Blooms Thinlits from So Saffron cardstock. I added a piece of 5/8" Burlap Ribbon and a sentiment stamped on Whisper White cardstock from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set. I colored a Basic Pearl black using a Project Life Journaling pen....you could also use a black sharpie (I didn't have one handy) for the birds eye!

Doesn't this thinlit make a great birds nest?!?

Next time I'm gonna add some Linen Thread or separated Burlap Ribbon to make it look like pieces a momma bird would have brought back to her nest!

Below is the inside of the card...very simple with room to write a special note!

Here is the sketch that I followed!  You can add your creation by clicking here - The Paper Players!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow to share some more FUN ideas!
