Tuesday's Tip - JOY Christmas Gift

Hello everyone!  It's time for my weekly Tuesday's Tip Video! This is such a fantastic project! It's so cute, easy and quick!  I hope you'll be inspired to make this wonderful gift for someone special!

Use ANY acrylic frame...this one is from Michael's.  You'll also need a 4" X 6" piece of Under the Mistletoe designer paper (in the Annual Catalog), and N, E and L cut with the Large Letter Framelits from Granny Apple Green cardstock, an Iridescent Boxwood Wreath, Rhinetones, Linen Thread and Real Red 1/8" Ribbon.

You'll need ANOTHER acrylic frame along with a 4" X 6" piece of Under the Mistletoe designer paper, a J & Y cut with the Large Letter Framelits from Night of Navy cardstock, a Boxwood Wreath, Pearls, Linen Thread and Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon.

Framed JOY & Stampin' Up! Online Extravaganza

Good Morning and HAPPY Black Friday!  Are you out there braving the crowds and finding lots of great deals?  I'm not big on shopping in big crowds so I'm at home in my pj's blogging! My husband just asked us if we wanted to go down the mountain, to Redding to see a movie or something...we all said NOOOOO!!! We do have Mountain Magic Christmas tonight.  Our downtown is all decorated for Christmas and the local stores are open late with fun sales, food and drink!  Tomorrow is the Bridge Lighting in Lewiston. There are peddlers selling their goods, hot chocolate, cotton candy and kettle corn booths.  Santa Claus crosses the bridge in his sled and the evening ends with a wonderful fireworks show!  The first time I went I just stood on the bridge and cried....it was so NOSTALGIC.  I was pregnant with our sixth child, we had our other kiddos with us and I just felt like every child should have a chance to experience it...at least once!

Today I want to share a fun gift I made for my roommates at OnStage!  

I found these CUTE frames at Michaels and slipped a 4" X 6" piece of Under the Mistletoe designer paper inside (it's on sale today and tomorrow!).  Next I used my Large Letters Framelits to cut a J & Y from Night of Navy cardstock and attached it to the outside of the frame with dimensional and blinged it up with a couple of Rhinestones.  Next I used Multipurpose glue to attach a Boxwood Wreath to the frame as my O and added a Night of Gingham Ribbon bow and a Linen Thread bow!  Isn't it cute?!  I just love it and need to make one for myself!!

Broadway Bound Scrapbook Page

Good Morning Everyone and HAPPY Friday!  Are you ready for your weekend?  Time is going by so fast...school starts on August 20th and I haven't even gone back to school shopping!  Today we're going over to the coast to do just that! We are also going to stop by Costco and pick up some groceries!

I've decided that if the road closer (due to the Carr Fire) with LIMITED opening down to Redding continues for long, I'll just order necessities online as UPS, USPS and FEDEX are on it and getting packages delivered!  In fact, I received my Holiday Catalog order yesterday!  YAY!  I'm getting my catalogs ready to mail out this weekend, so they will be ready on Monday!  

Today I want to share a scrapbook page that I created!  I'm SO BEHIND on my scrapbooking!  I'm hoping to dedicate one day a week to getting caught up!

I used Broadway Bound designer paper for the Crumb Cake background and the Real Red dsp behind the photos!  I also cut a strip of Daffodil Delight and embossed it with my Seaside embossing folder.

I used my Large Letters Framelits for the title....cutting the letters in Thick Whisper White and Bermuda Bay cardstock in order to layer them.  They are attached to the page with Mini Dimensionals.

Here you can see that I cut a Large Scalloped Circle with my Layering Circle framelits and added pearls for fun!  I also cut a Colored Doily in to separate pieces to add texture!  You can also see in this photo that I tied some Thick Bakers Twine around my "P" and frayed it!

Here I used a Pearlized Doily as a background.  I also my Support Ribbon framelits to cut the flowers! I LOVE these flowers! They are cut in Crushed Curry and Coastal Cabana and I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl to each center.

I LOVE how this page turned out!  I'm kind of changing my scrapbooking style...only picking a two or three and sometimes even just ONE of my favorite photos to showcase!

Celebrate the USA!

Good Morning everyone!  I hope you had a FABULOUS celebration for Independence Day!  I meant to post this yesterday, because it was the 4th, but I was side tracked by all the festivities!  By the time I thought of doing it, it was 11:30 at night and I was already in bed...so here it is today! 

I woke up yesterday to see a BEAUTIFUL card made my Janet Wakeland and I wanted to recreate it so badly!

Here's my INSPIRATION! Her blog is remarkablycreated.com ....be sure to check it out for more inspiration!

I LOVE the Delicate Lace Edgelits that she used on her card, but I don't have them yet (don't worry, they are on my list), so I had to come up with a different plan!

I used the Broadway Lights framelits for my layering.  I didn't like the blue showing through the white so I laced some Blueberry Bushel Grossgrain ribbon through it and added some Metalic Pearls.  The designer paper is from the 2018-2020 6 X 6 paper pack and the Brights 6 X 6 paper pack.  USA was cut with the Large Letters Framelits from Blueberry Bushel  and Celebrate was cut with the Celebrate You Thinlits from Silver Foil paper. I attached both with mini dimensional, but first I glued half of a Pearlized Doily top of the card.

I planned the second card in that I had a card base ready and centered my Large Letters framelits to cut the USA for my first card.  I wish that I had embossed the Blueberry Bushel cardstock before creating the card, for texture, but I didn't and it's still cute!  I backed the cut out with the same designer paper and Whisper White cardstock.  I cut the word CELEBRATE out again in Silver Foil paper and attached it with dimensionals.  I added some ribbon and Silver Baker's Twine and a star that I cut with the Wood Crate Framelits...oh and a few Rhinestones for sparkle! Super fun PATRIOTIC cards...they're not just for Independence Day!

I hope you enjoyed these cards...I sure had FUN making them!  I can't wait to get the Detailed Lace Edgelits...be ready for lots of inspiration with those!

"Make-It Monday" Large Letters Eclipse

Good Morning and HELLO Monday! Are you ready for your week? I woke up in a panic at 2am this morning thinking of all the things I have to finish before going to OnStage next week...so the first thing I did was make a list. It's funny how making a list calms the brain and allows you to go back to sleep!  

I'm heading down the mountain today to go grocery shopping and to drop in to a dear friends annual jewelry party...then there is home group tonight.  That means I won't have time to get out into my shop to work on my OnStage projects, but they are written down on my list...and I have nine more days until I leave.  I also have a class to prepare for this Wednesday evening...always flying by the seat of my pants!  

I have a GORGEOUS "Make-It Monday" to share with you today!  BE INSPIRED!

"Make-It Monday": Large Letters Eclipse card created with Stampin' Up! products

These eclipse cards are quite the rage right now. This card does not use any stamp sets or ink.

Supplies:

• Card Stock – Thick Whisper White (140272)
• Miscellaneous  – Red Glimmer Paper (121790); Silver Glimmer Paper (135314); Large Letters Framelits (141712); Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies (144678); Winter Wonder Embossing Folder (144686); 1/8” Handheld Punch (134365); Foam Adhesive Strips (141825); Mini Glue Dots (103683); SNAIL Adhesive (104332)

       
Measurements:  

• Thick Whisper White:        5 1/2" x 8 1/2" (scored at 4 1/4")   4” x 5 1/4"         
• Red Glimmer:                   1/4" x 4” (x2)           2 1/2" x 4”     scrap (for snowflake)
• Silver Glimmer:                 scraps (for snowflakes)

       
Instructions:

1. Run Thick Whisper White cardstock layer through the Big Shot using the Winter Wonder Embossing Folder.
2. Cut out “JOY” using the Large Letters Framelits on the Thick Whisper White cardstock. Save letters.
3. Cut out 2 snowflakes using the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies on the Silver Glimmer Paper. Using the 1/8” Handheld Punch, punch out a little circle for the middle of the snowflake using Red Glimmer paper.
4. Assemble. Fold card base in half on the score line. Layer Red Glimmer paper behind Thick Whisper White layer. Adhere with Mini Glue Dots. Adhere Thick Whisper White layer to card base using SNAIL Adhesive.
5. Adhere Red Glimmer strips on each end of card using Mini Glue Dots.
6. Adhere “JOY” letters using Foam Adhesive Strips on top of where it was previously cut out.
7. Add snowflakes using Mini Glue Dots.

Merry Music - JOY

Good Morning everyone! Here we are Friday again! Hope you all have FUN plans for the weekend!  Things are gonna be pretty calm around here and I am so happy!  I have a class to teach Saturday morning and plan on going on a hike with my sister-in-law (unless it's pouring rain)...and that's all the plans I have! Today, however, I have to go down the mountain...AGAIN...for an orthodontist appointment.  I was thinking I had the entire day to myself today...but then I got the reminder call! My plans changed quickly...hahaha!

I have a fun card to share with you today! I'm sure you have been seeing all the CUTE cards made with the Large Letters Framelits. I just got them last week and here is my first creation!

The card base is Whisper White and the first layer is a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Smokey Slate cardstock. The background is from the Merry Music Specialty paper pack. The word JOY is cut with the Large Letters framelits. I cut three (3) of each letter and used Multipurpose glue to layer them one on top of the other. Next, I used MINI dimensionals (LOVE THESE) to add them to the bottom of my card.  I tied a piece of Real Red 1/8" Ribbon around the "O" after it was mounted onto the card. I find that addding the ribbon after the letter is attached to the card base is MUCH EASIER than adding it before you attach it!

This card is SIMPLE yet I think it's really BEAUTIFUL!  You can add some bling if you like, but I just wanted to keep it simple. I bought a bunch of this designer paper so I think I'll make several more of these cards!!
