Christmas Themed Facebook Hop!

Hello everyone! Golly, it's been a busy day! I worked at both of my part-time jobs!  Both took a while so I just arrived home!  Here I am FINALLY blogging!

Tonight at 5pm PST I'll be participating in a Facebook Hop! You can click on the Facebook Icon to the right of this post and it should take you to my Stampin' UP! Facebook page where you can follow the hop!

Here's what I'll be sharing on the hop!

Every month at my church we have a DOTK (Daughter of the King) meeting...I think I've mentioned it here before. We eat dinner together, pray, visit and sometimes we CREATE!  Last month I was able to teach the ladies how to make these cards!  I had a BLAST!!

I wanted to keep the card very simple because most ladies had never made cards before. This card has a Whisper White base, layer one is Basic Black and layer two is Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper. I pre-cut ovals using my Stitched Shapes framelits and each lady used the Lovely as a Tree stamp set to stamp the tree in Pear Pizzazz Ink. A piece of Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Shimmery Ribbon is wrapped around the  first and second layers and then the stamped tree image is adhered with dimensionals! The fun thing about this card, especially where we live, is that it can be used for more than just Christmas!

The next card that we created has a Basic Black cardbase with a layer of Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper.  I pre-cut ovals again using my Stitched Shapes framelits and another piece of Merry Little Christmas dsp. The trees were also pre-cut using the Card Front Builder Framelits and are cut in Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  The trees are attached to the oval with dimensionals and the oval is attached to the base also using dimensional.  A bow was tied with a piece of 1/8" Real Red Solid Ribbon and was attached with Multipurpose glue and a Clear Faceted Gem was added to the top of the bow.

There were some Christmas sentiments available to choose from to add to the inside of the cards. It was a really FUN evening!

That's it for today!  THANKS BUNCHES for stopping by! I LOVE what I do and LOVE to share it with you...and others!

Please go to my facebook page, like it, comment if you want and follow along to see all of the other FUN creations!! ENJOY!

Hometown Greetings

Hey there everyone! Another beautiful day! Hope yours is too! I'm SUPER excited to be heading down to see my son today. I'm gonna stay with him in Woodland because my flight to Salt Lake City leaves at 6:20 tomorrow morning! He just got back from a ten day trip to Iceland and I can't wait to see all of his photos!  I do have a card I'd like to share with you today...BE INSPIRED!

My card base is Whisper White. I cut a 3 1/2" X 4 1/2" piece of Whisper White cards stock and used the Marbled stamp to create the wintery background.  It is stamped in Bermuda Bay. The houses are cut with the Hometown Greeting Edgelit Dies...also in Whisper White with a So Saffron backing. The houses are attached with dimensionals to add depth.  I cut a 4 1/8" X 5 3/8" piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut an oval in the center using the Stitched Shapes framelits...save that cut out for a future project! Next I embossed it using the Softly Falling embossing folder. It is attached with dimensionals also.  Last...cut the trees with the Card Front Builder framelits andt attach them with dimensionals. Doesn't it look TOTALLY wintery and coldd...but the So Saffron makes the houses look cozy and warm! This was a fun card to make...I hope you'll give it a try...put your own spin on it...HAVE FUN!!

Here's What I used!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a TERRIFIC rest of your day! I have a few more things to do before I head out...better get busy!

Merry Little Christmas

Good Morning everyone! Here we are NOVEMBER already! This year is going by so fast! Well...we survived Halloween! SADLY...I never get any trick-or-treaters! My entire married life (28 years) we have lived in the country (now we're only two miles out) and everyone goes to town so I don't get to see all the cute costumes.  Our town does have a really great tradition though! The businesses located in the old part of town all sit outside their stores and give candy out on Halloween night.  There are literally 100's of kids....this always swells my heart and brings a tear of joy to my heart. There are things that I don't like about small town living, but this ISN'T one of them! I also LOVE that our community embraces the high school aged kids as much as the little ones. High school kids want candy too...and it keeps them out of trouble! A nice perk for me is I apply a "Almond Joy" tax for driving my kids to town and picking them up...now that they are older they go get to go out in groups. They have so much fun being independent!

Today's card is one that we made in my October classes. I'm sure you've figured out by now that I LOVE the Merry Little Christmas designer paper...and I'm using it here! I layered a piece on to some Basic Black cardstock and I cut another piece into an oval using the Stitched Shapes framelits. The Dazzling Diamonds tree is cut with the Card Front Builder framelits and is attached with dimensionals (the oval is attached with dimensional too). I added a piece of silver Mini Tinsel Trim along with a piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double Stitched ribbon to finish it off!

It's a great card to make...CLEAN and SIMPLE!

Year of Cheer - World Card Making Day Project 5

Hello! How's your morning going? I hope FANTASTIC! I'm heading down the mountain for my class in Redding! I ALWAYS look forward to seeing these ladies! They are a FUN group! We'll be making a couple of Christmas cards and a couple of fall cards...I sure hope they like them! I'm a little worried...things came together pretty smoothly and when that happens it usually means I forgot something...OH I HOPE NOT!!

I wanted to remind you of the Designer Paper Sale going on through the end of October! Don't miss it! Click here to see which papers are on sale and to stock up!!

Today's card is the last card from my World Card Making Day event! I hope you will be INSPIRED!!

This BEAUTIFUL card has a card base of Whisper White and the first layer is Silver Foil paper and measures 4 1/8" X 5 3/8".  I didn't have enough for the class so we used Smokey Slate cardstock. Next is a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Year of Cheer designer paper. OH HOW I LOVE THIS PAPER!!! Every single piece is beautiful!

I added a Foil Snowflake and a Silver Foil Stitched circle to the designer paper (letting it hang over the right side). Next I used my trimmer to trim it even with the designer paper.  The trees are cut from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper using the Card Front Builder Dies. I added a piece of Silver Metallic Edged ribbon (tying it in a bow). I used the Pretty Pines dies to cut a Dazzling Diamonds bough and a Silver Foil branch. Last I tied some Linen Thread around the bow of the Metallic Edged ribbon and added some Rhinestone Basic Jewels! I just LOVE how it turned out!

I so enjoyed my World Card Making Class and plan on making it an ANNUAL EVENT! I had 25 ladies participate...either by joining me at my workshop or ordering kits! It was a ton of prep work, but I ENJOYED every minute of it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you find just a bit of time to create! I can't wait to share what we are making in my class with you today...so be sure to come back tomorrow!

Have a FANTASTIC day!
