Summer of Sunflowers Week

Good Sunday Morning to you!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend, getting lots of project finished and finding time to create!  This week starts my SUMMER OF SUNFLOWERS theme.  I was in my workshop yesterday...and everything I created I wanted to add a sunflower to...so I thought.."WHY NOT HAVE A SUNFLOWER THEMED WEEK"?  I hope you'll follow along and enjoy some SUNNY SUMMER SUNFLOWERS!

Today's post is a sketch challenge from Seize the Sketch - it's a simple sketch and I love how it turned out!  Below is the sketch...

...and here is my card for the challenge!  I have really been having a TERRIFIC SUMMER...and I was remembering my childhood, thinking about the things that make up and "AMERICAN SUMMER"....so here are my memories...on a card!

I LOVE IT!  It's so AMERICANA!!! The colors are Hello Honey, Night of Navy, Garden Green, Basic Black, Whisper White, Real Red and Baked Brown Sugar.  The stamp sets I used are Endless Birthday Wishes, Kind and Cozy, Work of Art (for the stripes of the flag).  I punched stars with the punch from the new Itty Bitty Accents set.  I then attached them lightly to the Whisper White paper and sponged Night of Navy ink over them, remove them and viola....STARS.  I also used the Boho Blossoms punch, the Bird Builder punch, the 2 1/2" Circle punch and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

ENJOY YOUR SUMMER!

Didn't Sondra attend a retreat or two with you? Love your summer card, so festive, what a fun way to incorporate the flag in the background. All the elements are so cute!! BTW, I live in Blue Lake!
