Masculine Card - Going Places

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a wonderful weekend...got some chores done...found time to relax...and found time to CREATE!  I was busy getting flowers planted in preparation for my daughters Bridal Tea this Saturday! It's really looking pretty!  I'm gonna apologize right now...I'm probably gonna be HIT and MISS at blogging for the next month!  Life is getting CRAZY...shower this weekend...baseball tournament in Medford, Oregon next weekend, 8th grade graduation and then THE WEDDING!  Please don't give up on me though! I will still be creating...still having my classes...just not sure I'll find time to blog daily...I've already been hit an miss!

Today I have a quick card to share with you...a MASCULINE card!  I'm TERRIBLE at creating masculine cards...it's something I REALLY NEED TO WORK ON!!

I matted a 3 3/4" X 5" piece of Going Places designer paper onto a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of Basic Black cardstock and then adhered it to my Very Vanilla card base.  The sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set!  I added some washi tape and candy dots and adhered it to my card with dimensionals!  It's definitely a SIMPLE card...but I need to work on those guy cards!!

Fluttering Mother's Day

Good Monday Morning to you all!  I hope the moms out there all had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Mine was wonderful. Adam and Kate (my two youngest children that are still home) made breakfast for us (waffel sticks with fruit, eggs and bacon) and my husband made a delicious dinner of BBQ'd lobster, ginger scallops, spinach salad and potato salad.  All of my older kids except one called, shot me texts and posted fb messages...all making me feel very special! There was some heartache, but I choose not to focus on that...I will find my JOY in God and REST in His promises....I am blessed!

My card today was my actual card to my mother-n-law.  It's the card I shared last week but I improved on it and a different size.  I also used it in our group facebook hop on Saturday!

I made a square card measuring 5 1/2" X 5 1/2". Because it was a Stampin' UP! facebook hop I couldn't use a square envelope, so I made my own using a piece of designer paper from the Brights paper stack and the Envelope Punch Board.

I punched the butterfly using the Bitty Butterfly Punch and the flowers are from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set and the Petite Petal punch. I used an Enamel Dot from the Occasions catalog for the centers of the flowers. It's a SIMPLE and CLEAN card that I just LOVE!!

I embossed my Whisper White cardstock using the Fluttering embossing folder.  The sentiment was created using the Endless Birthday Wishes and Crazy About You stamp sets, stamped in Soft Suede ink and layered along with a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock onto a piece of Burlap Ribbon...I'm so SAD it's retiring!!

The facebook hop required a matching tag so I chose to make a bookmark.  First I cut a 2" by 6" piece of Whisper Whited cardstock, dry embossed it with the Fluttering embossing folder and used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch for the top. I again used the Bitty Butterfly punch and a scrap of the designer paper I made the envelope with. I also used a piece of Burlap ribbon to tie through the top.

It was a FUN hop with lots of fresh ideas!

Thank you so much for stopping by and seeing what I do! Creating brings a lot of PEACE and JOY to my life and I LOVE sharing it with all of you!

Bridal Tea

Hello there!!!  Gosh...it's Tuesday night already!  I went down the mountain to grocery shop today....busy...busy...busy!

I came home and placed my pre-order for the 2016-2017 Stampin' UP! Catalog!!  You are gonna LOVE IT!!!

I also finished my daughter's shower invitations and put them in the mail!  We are having a BRIDAL TEA!!  It's going to be so nice!  Here's the invitation! I printed the invitation onto Very Vanilla cardstock and layered it onto another piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and then onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock!  I punched the corners using the Curvy Corner Trio punch.  I also used linen thread to attach a teapot from the Have A Cuppa embellishments!  I LOVE how they turned out....with cute matching recipe cards!! Let me know what you think!!

I'll post photos of the festivities!  Thanks so much for stopping by!!! Sleep tight tonight!!!

Fluttering...Crazy About You...Mother's Day

Good morning everyone! It's a BEAUTIFUL, BLUE SKY kinda of day here in my little mountain town! I hope your weekend was AMAZING!  I went for a couple of hikes with my husband and two kiddos (that are still at home)! I LOVE HIKING!  It saddens me that there are folks that have lived here their entire lives and haven't seen the sights one sees while hiking! I know...not everyone likes to hike...it's hard and exhausting...and I'm very slow...but it's so worth it when you get to your destination!  I'm sharing some photos at the bottom so you can see how BEAUTIFUL it is here!

This morning my son is in town. He lives in Davis, CA but is moving to Woodland CA. I enjoyed a Chai Latte and breakfast with him! I'm feeling very blessed!

I do have a card to share with you this morning!  It's a simple card with a bit of rustic elegance and OF COURSE...it's a Mother's Day card!

For this card I embossed a piece of Whisper White cardstock using the Fluttering textured embossing folder. I LOVE these butterflies!  I cut a 2 1/2" piece of Burlap Ribbon (so SAD it's retiring) and cut the finished edges so the thread would separate and attached it to the cardstock with Tear and Tape adhesive.  The flowers were punched with the Petite Petals punch and the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch set. The centers are It's My Party Enamel Dots from the Occasions Catalog and the sentiment is from the Crazy About You stamp set. You really could use any sentiment with this card...it would make a wonderful birthday, anniversary, wedding or even sympathy card.

For the inside of the card I simply layered a piece of Soft Suede cardstock with Whisper White cardstock on top...no stamping...just blank. I could have and probably should have added a small flower...just to make it special...but instead I kept it simple!

As promised, here are a couple of my favorite photos from our hiking...hoping you get inspired to get out there and hike and walk!  I need to get 30 lbs off so I plan on doing a bunch of it! There's so much BEAUTY out there!

Sassy Salutations and Timeless Texture Congratulations Card

Good Thursday Morning to you all! I'm heading in to work today to pay bills and then I get to have lunch with a neighbor lady. She is in her 80's and a widow...I try to have lunch with her every Thursday...one week she cooks...one week I bring lunch. I LOVE this time...her stories...her wisdom...her experience! I wish I could do that with my mom but she live so far away...monthly will have to do...cherish that time with friends and family!
I have a card to share with you today that we made in my classes this month!  It's a SIMPLE and quick card to make! The colors I chose are Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz.

With my sponge daubers I swiped both colors onto a piece of Whisper Whited cardstock. Next I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  My sentiment is from the Sassy Salutation stamp set...some of my ladies chose the Happy Birthday sentiment and it looked great!  Really, you could use any sentiment! I also used  my Timeless Textures stamp set to stamp the spots and added some Metallics Sequins to bling it up a bit!

Don't forget to add a little dazzle to the inside of your card...it makes it SPECIAL!

Whoops...I almost forgot...before I put my card together, I used the Punch Corner punch to round the corners of just the bottom corners. SUPER CUTE...SUPER EASY...choose your colors and make one today!

Wood You Be Mine Birthday Card

Hello everyone!  I hope you've been having a fantastic day! I'm sorry I've been missing the last few days...it's been so BUSY around here...in addition to our normal schedule, we've had trips to Redding for a doctor's appointments, projects at home getting ready for a Bridal Tea and I still have to make my daughter's Bridal Shower invitations...it's one thing after another! I am TOTALLY flying by the seat of my pants...and LOVIN' EVERY MINUTE OF IT!

I have a new ministry at church that I started back in February.  I'm sending birthday and anniversary cards out to folks...it's what I LOVE...and I can't HOARD those cards I've made forever!  Yesterday I needed a MASCULINE card and I am NOT VERY GOOD at MASCULINE cards...but I had an idea!  I had several Valentines Day cards already made using the, (retired-sorry), Wood You Be Mine stamp set...I'm sure many of you have it because it's so great.

I started with this card....

and, just by changing the sentiment, I ended with this card...
The really cool thing is that it is going to a gentleman who has made a career in the logging industry.  It was just perfect!

I do have a challenge for myself now though...I need to make more MASCULINE cards!

Thanks bunches for stopping by!  Make your Wednesday WONDERFUL and find just a moment to create!
